1 Thessalonians 3 Bible Study

In 1 Thessalonians 3:1-5, when Paul came to Athens, he decided to send Timothy to the Thessalonians to establish them in their faith. He wanted to make sure that the followers don’t easily give in when afflictions arise. Paul reminded them of how they suffered for the gospel. Paul and Silas were captured and imprisoned for doing God’s work. Paul is sending Timothy to find out about the faith of the Thessalonians. He hoped that their faith had not fall away from Satan’s temptation. Satan always attempted to try the faith of the follower. We must be strong in holding on to God and never let fall into the deception of Satan.

In 1 Thessalonians 3:6, Timothy has returned from visiting the Thessalonians. He told Paul about the strong faith and love of Thessalonians. The Thessalonians missed Paul very much. They had strong relationship with him. The afflictions that the Thessalonians experienced had brought them together in unity.

In 1 Thessalonians 3:7-10, after hearing the good news from Timothy, Paul felt that all his efforts were worthwhile and not wasted. When Paul sees the strong faith of the Thessalonians, he felt revitalized in the Lord, like he is breathing in a new breath of life. Paul was glad about the success of the church of Thessalonica. Paul prayed consistently day and night for God to let him visit Thessalonica again. We should always give encouragement to our church leaders. The leaders in your church can get discouraged and frustrated at times. Every leader needs encouragement from the church member. You can go over to your church leader such as pastor deacon or elder and give them a word of encouragement. You can do something for your church to let them feel appreciated. When they get encouragement from you, they will feel strengthened to do the work of God.

In 1 Thessalonians 3:11-13, Paul hoped that God will give him the opportunity to visit the Thessalonians again. He hoped that the Thessalonians’ love for others will grow by leaps and bounds. When you demonstrate God’s love in your life, people will notice that you are a Christian. It opens people heart to want to Blog. Soon, Jesus is coming back to this earth. He will come back with the followers who have faith before they died. This will happen when the trumpet is sounded from heaven and everyone on earth will hear it.
