Colossians 4 Bible Study

In Colossians 4:1, Paul asks the slave owners to treat the slaves justly according to the agreed wages in the contract. Slave owners should give their slaves better treatment, treating them nicely as a person and not slave.

In Colossians 4:2-4, we should be persistent and never give up in our prayer. We should always spend time pray for missionaries, pastors, church workers and etc so that they can concentrate and do the work of Christ without hindrances from the devil. Whenever you are with a non-believer, you should grab the opportunity to talk about Jesus to him. It is important that you use the right word so that they can be persuaded to accept Jesus. We must be friendly when preaching the gospel in order to be effective. We must preach the gospel in a way that the listener can understand. You must be clear about the message of salvation before you can talk it to others. If you aren’t clear about it, your listener will get confused as well.

In Colossians 4:5-15, Paul is sending Tychichus and Onesimus to the Colossians to report about the good things that the Lord has done for him there. Aristarchus, Mark and Justus also sent their greetings with Paul. Epaphras, another follower of Christ, also sent his greetings to the church of Colossae. Luke, a doctor, also sent his greeting to the Colossians. Finally, Paul sent his greetings to the followers at Laodicea including Nymphia and her church. Nymphia used her home as a church.
