Luke 21 Bible Study

In Luke 21:1-4, Jesus was pleased to see a widow who gave all of what she had, two mites into the temple treasury. Jesus did not look at the amount we give but he look at our hearts. He want to see how much you are willing to sacrifice for him. He is pleased when you give the offering out of a sincere heart. God loves a cheerful giver (Deuteronomy 15:10; 2 Corinthians 9:7). If you are reluctant to give, you should not give the offering. God does not force us to give money to him. He gives each of us a free will to obey his commandment. Yet, it is a requirement to pay your tithe to God, which is 10% of your income. The tithe should be paid to the church (Malachi 3:8-10).

In Luke 21:5-38, the disciples remarked about the beautiful stones that are set on the temple and the gifts offered to God there. However, Jesus rebuked the disciples by saying that the temple will be completely collapsed one day in the future. Jesus went on tell his disciples that there will be lots of occurrences of natural disasters in the end time. There will be wars in many places. Many Christians will be persecuted for the sake of the gospel. The end time will not come until the gospel is preached to all over the world (Matthew 24:14). The Jewish people will come to faith in Christ after the full number of gentiles had accepted Jesus (Romans 11:25). This will happen after the first rapture takes place. When the first rapture takes place, Jesus will appear in the cloud and he will rapture his faithful followers. Christians who have faithfully follow Jesus Christ will be raptured up into the sky along with their bodies (1 Thessalonians 4:15-18). Signs will appear in the sun, moon and stars. The sun and stars will no longer shine. The moon will turn blood red in the end time (Revelations 6:12). Jesus is telling his disciples to keep watch and eagerly anticipate for his second coming. Jesus said that no one know when the second coming of Christ including him and the angels, except the Father God (Mark 13:32). Jesus is coming back again so we must be prepared by getting rid of all the bad habits in our lives and start following him wholeheartedly.
