Mark 3 Bible Study
In Mark 3:1-6, when Jesus was at the synagogue, a man that suffered from a shriveled hand happened to be there. The people were watching Jesus to see if he will heal on the Sabbath. Jesus healed the man with the shriveled hand nevertheless. He rebuked them. On the Sabbath day, you cannot work and earn money. You can do good on the Sabbath.
In Mark 3:7-12, a large crowd followed Jesus from Galilee. He healed many sick people and cast out demons from demon possessed people. Jesus told the people not to tell about what happen because it is not yet the time for him to be handed over to the enemies and be crucified.
In Mark 3:13-19, Jesus sent out the twelve disciples to preach and cast out demons. The twelve disciples of Jesus were Simon, James, John, Andrew, Philip, Bartholomew, Matthew, Thomas, James the son of Alphaeus, Thaddaeus, and Simon the Canaanite, and Judas Iscariot (Mark 3:16-19). As the children of God, we have the authority to cast out demons in Jesus name.
In Mark 3:20-30, the teachers of the law blasphemed Jesus by saying that he is casting out demons by Beelzebub, the prince of the demons. Jesus rebuked them by saying that a kingdom cannot stand if it is divided against itself. Jesus is casting out the demons by the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit do the works in us. Jesus said that anyone that blaspheme against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven because they will be guilty of an eternal sin.
In Mark 3:31-35, Jesus said that his mother and brothers are those who follow his will and obey God’s commandments.
