Romans 12 Bible Study

In Romans 12:1-2, Christians should offer themselves as living sacrifice to God. This means that you must let Jesus use you in his work. You must spend time to build your relationship with God. This includes studying the Bible, serving Jesus and praying on behalf of others regularly. Christians should not act like the people of this world, always pursuing after possessions and fleshly desires. Instead, we should let God renew our minds with good thoughts so that our lives can please him.

In Romans 12:3-5, every Christian is a member of Christ’s body, the church. We must get involved in the work of Jesus and do our best to serve him. In order to be great in the kingdom of heaven, we must first learn to serve others. In John 13:4-5, Jesus knelt down to wash the feet of the disciples after supper. The purpose is to show them that they should humble themselves and serve others like him. Every Christian must grow in Christ and serve Jesus so that his life will be fruitful.

In Romans 12:6-8, God has given every one of us a gift. There are several types of gifts from God including prophesy, see vision and etc. God created each one of us to be unique. We are blessed with different talents so that we can serve him in different ways. Whatever is the gift of God in your life, you should use it to honor and glorify God’s name. If you have money, you should be generous and help people who are needy. If you have the gift of prophesy, you should prophesy and encourage others to be stronger in Christ. If you know how to encourage people, you should go to people who are depressed and give them some word of God to brighten their days.

In Romans 12:9-13, we should love others and help them whenever they are needy. We should never give chance to evil and let it enter our lives. Every evil thought should be eliminated from our mind. We must never compromise to do evil things. We should strive to love others as much as we love ourselves. We should always put our hope in God and never give up no matter what happens. When we face problem, we must not give up praying. Instead, we should persist in prayer until God answers it. You must never reject any needy person that comes to you for help. You should do your best to help people who come to you for help. You should also not reject strangers into your home but be hospitable to them.

In Romans 12:14-18, we must never have hatred or take revenge against people who ill-treats you. Instead of cursing them, we should forgive and bless them. When people tell you about happy news, you should be happy for them. When you see someone who is depressed, you should be sad and pray for them. We must never be proud because pride is a sin. We should befriend everyone regardless of their status. If you are in a high position, you should not look down on people who are poorer. Instead, you should make friends with them and love them like brothers and sisters in Christ. We should not take revenge on people who had mistreated us. We should live in peace with everyone and avoid quarreling.

In Romans 12:19, it is wrong to take revenge against our enemies but we can tell God about it and ask him to punish them himself.

In Romans 12:20, when your enemies need help, you should help them.

In Romans 12:21, we should overcome evil with God. We must be on our guard all the time and never let evil stay enters into our mind.
