The atonement for childbearing women are obliged to made in Leviticus 12 aim to thank God for his mercies towards childbearing. The point of this law is not to be serve as a punishment for a childbearing woman. God’s commandment is that the men and women be fruitful and fill the whole earth with people (Genesis 1:28). In Ezekiel 19:10, a woman with many children is considered blessed. God put this law as a reminder that a woman bring forth a new sinner into the world. Therefore, if the woman give birth to a girl, her purification days will be double than if she give birth to a boy, which is 66 days because the girl will eventually grow up and bring forth another sinner into the world. Parents should teach their children about the commandments of God since small so that they will be obedient and walk in God’s commandments.
