Psalm 122 Summary

In Psalm 122:1-2, David rejoiced when a number of people asked him to go to the house of God, together. David was happy to go to worship God at the temple with others.

In Psalm 122:3-5, Jerusalem was a well built city.  During the time of David, the upper and lower parts of the city were joined together. Everything in the city Jerusalem was built properly in good conditions including the streets and houses, just like the temple of God in Jerusalem. The temple of God was fortified properly and built on a rock so it has a firm foundation and is easily visible by other people.

In Psalm 122:6-9, we should pray for the peace of Jerusalem. May those who love Jerusalem and pray for its peace will have security. The psalmist sought to do all good to the house of God.

1. Love your church

We should love our church. You should do your best to contribute to your church such as serving, donation or anything you can to help build up the members within the church. In 1 Timothy 4:12, let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.
