Psalm 136 Summary
In Psalm 136:1-3, give thanks to God because he is good. God is the greatest. He is the God of gods and Lord of lords. His love endures forever.
In Psalm 136:4-9, God has done many great wonders. He created the heavens, the earth, the lights, sun, moon and stars. His love endures forever.
In Psalm 136:10-12, God killed all the firstborns of Egypt and let the Israelites out.
In Psalm 136:13-15, God divided the Red Sea apart so that there was dry land for the Israelites to pass through to the other side of the shore. Pharaoh and his soldiers tried to pursue them but they were drowned when Moses held the staff out and the water flowed back.
In Psalm 136:16-22, God led the Israelites in the desert during the day with a pillar of cloud and a pillar of fire at night. He helped them to conquered King Sihon of the Amorites, King Og of Bashan so that they can settle in their land.
In Psalm 136:23-26, God remembered those who are faithful to him. He freed them from their enemies. Give thanks to God for his love endures forever.

1. Always give thanks to God
We must always give thanks to God in all circumstances. If God answer your prayer, you must thank him. You must thank him for everything good that happens. Even if you are facing a problem, you should not blame God or anyone else but give thanks to him. In 1 Thessalonians 5:18, in every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
