Psalm 94 Summary
In Psalm 94:1-3, God is a God who takes vengeance for us against our enemies. God will fight for you and stand on your side if you are faithful and obedient to follow his commandments.
In Psalm 94:4-7, the wicked are arrogant and always boast about destroying God’s people, the Israelites. They killed the widow, alien and fatherless. They do not believe in God so they never ever consider that God is seeing their wicked deeds and will punish them.
In Psalm 94:8-11, the psalmist rebuked the wicked, asking them when will they become wise and know God. God is our creators. He created the universe and everything in it. He gives us ears to hear and eyes to see. God is always watching us from heaven. He knows what we are doing and it is up to him to punish the wicked. God knows everything. He knows our thoughts and feelings.
In Psalm 94:12-15, blessed is the man God disciplines. God discipline his children when they are wrong so that they will turn back to him and walk on the right path.
In Psalm 94:16-19, the psalmist described unless God help him to fight against his enemies, he will be killed by them soon.
In Psalm 94:20-23, God will never ally with the unrighteous powers of the world because they oppress the righteous and condemn the innocent to death. God is our fortress. He is the rock in whom we take refuge. The wicked will eventually be punished for their sins and be destroyed.
Psalm 94 Bible Study
1. Let God take vengeance for you
We must never take revenge against other people. Hating and being jealous about other people and taking revenge against them is a sin. If your enemy bullies you, you can pray to God and ask him to deal this problem for you. God will fight for you. He will always be on your side. In Romans 12:19, dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.
In Proverbs 20:22, say not thou, I will recompense evil; but wait on the LORD, and he shall save thee. In Proverbs 24:29, say not, I will do so to him as he hath done to me: I will render to the man according to his work. In Romans 12:17, recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men.
In 1 Thessalonians 4:6, Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men. In Hebrews 10:30, for we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people. In Ephesians 4:27, neither give place to the devil.
