Bible Study Outline on Ephesians 3:20-21 – God is Able to Do Exceeding Abundantly
God is Able to Bless Us More Abundantly than We Imagine
Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen. (Ephesians 3:20-21 KJV)
God is able to do far more abundantly than we ask. Often, we have doubts in mind and don’t know whether God can help us in the problem we are facing. This may limit us in what we ask in our prayer. Instead of limiting the request you make in your prayer, you should pray boldly for what you want. We are God’s children and we have the authority to ask from God what we want. Therefore, we must not be afraid to bring our needs before God and ask him for a favor.
God is always ready and happy to give us anything as long as we ask him in prayer. For example, you would probably pray for a job with enough salary to cover your basic expenses when you have no money. If your heart is bigger and you have more faith in God, you can ask God to bless you with a good job with an income that is more than enough so that you can bless others who are needy.
And I have also given thee that which thou hast not asked, both riches, and honour: so that there shall not be any among the kings like unto thee all thy days. (1 Kings 3:13 KJV)
And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work: (2 Corinthians 9:8 KJV)
Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. (Malachi 3:10 KJV)
But I have all, and abound: I am full, having received of Epaphroditus the things which were sent from you, an odour of a sweet smell, a sacrifice acceptable, wellpleasing to God. But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:18-19 KJV)
The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it. (Proverbs 10:22 KJV)
Pray to God for Anything You Want
God loves you and he wants to bless you if only you will surrender completely to him. God can give you more than what you ask for in your prayer. If you abide in God and walk in his commandments, you will be able to walk in his plan. You should not expect that solutions will automatically come for all the problems you pray because it is God’s responsibility to take care of all your needs. You must pray before you can receive anything from God. God wants you to ask him for the things you want.
When you pray and ask for a favor sincerely, you will receive it. When you diligently seek something, you will find it. When you pray, you must have faith. Praying is like talking to God. We are to discuss every issue in our lives with God. Frequent prayers can help to build up our relationships with God. When you pray regularly, you will find that your faith grows and you will be able to experience God personally. Having personal experience with God is important to every new born Christians.

If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. (John 15:7 KJV)
Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. (Mark 11:24 KJV)

Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full. (John 16:24 KJV)
Don’t Doubt in God
You must believe and not doubt in him. If you doubt, God’s blessing cannot pass on to you. If you want your prayer to reach God’s throne, you must believe that God exists and that he will reward you what you ask for. When you pray according to God’s will, God will answer your prayer. God is in charge of everything in the universe. God knows everything that will happen in the future. We must follow God’s will and do his plans instead of following our own plans. God has a good plan for everyone. If you walk in God’s plan, you will be successful.
But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. (Hebrews 11:6 KJV)
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart. And I will be found of you, saith the LORD: and I will turn away your captivity, and I will gather you from all the nations, and from all the places whither I have driven you, saith the LORD; and I will bring you again into the place whence I caused you to be carried away captive. (Jeremiah 29:11-14 KJV)
A man’s heart deviseth his way: but the Lord directeth his steps. (Proverbs 16:9 KJV)
If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. A double minded man is unstable in all his ways. (James 1:5-6 KJV)
Give Thanks to God after Your Prayer is Answered
When God answer your prayer, you must offer thanksgivings to him. When God bless you with abundance, you must not forget about God and be busy with your life. You must always remember to walk in God’s commandments and do your best to help others. In this way, you will be a good testimony to others and God’s name can be glorified.
