Bible Study Outline on Giving Praises to God in a Storm

Troubles give you opportunity to experience God and build our faith and strength in Christ. When we face troubles, we will think of turning to God especially when there is no other solution. When you seek God in prayer, you are humbling yourself before him. Some people get mad at God and grumble. They may ask what the purpose that God put troubles in their lives is. God can use troubles to equip and prepare us for doing his ministry in the future. It was the Spirit who led Jesus Christ into the wilderness. Jesus fasted for 40 days and nights in the wilderness. Jesus Christ was able to win against the devil’s temptation because he trusted in God.

Satan is always coming up with mischieves. He seizes every opportunity he can to attack and destroy people’s lives. Satan is happy when he see God’s children is being led astray. Satan sought after God’s permission to attack Job by taking away all his children and servants and livestock. Job did not curse God for all the calamities he faced but he praises God in the distress he faced. Satan can also send problems into your life. Satan will hope that you blame God and grumble against him so that he could be glorified in this. He will aim at your weak area and put a deceptive thought in your mind so that you will be discouraged to continue in serving him.

Seeking God in prayer is one way of giving praises to God. When you seek God in prayer, you are acknowledging your need to God. Jesus Christ said everyone who is laden with burden should come to him. During difficult times, you must be strong in Christ and not give up easily. You must continue to give praises to him, believing that he will answer your prayer and help you. If you give in easily, you are letting the devil wins. If you don’t give up and continue to offer praises to God, you will surely be able to have a breakthrough which you can tell others in a testimony afterwards.

We must have faith in God during the storm of troubles. You must believe that God will do what you request in your prayer. Nothing is impossible for anyone who believes. When you praise God in times of difficulties, you are offering a sacrifice of praise. When you continue to praise God in hard times, you will find the Holy Spirit fill your heart with peace and joy.

Praise ye the Lord. Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power. Praise him for his mighty acts: praise him according to his excellent greatness. Praise him with the sound of the trumpet: praise him with the psaltery and harp. Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs. Praise him upon the loud cymbals: praise him upon the high sounding cymbals. Let every thing that hath breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord. (Psalm 150:1-6 KJV)

Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms. (James 5:13 KJV)

Therefore I will give thanks unto thee, O Lord, among the heathen, and I will sing praises unto thy name. (2 Samuel 22:50 KJV)

Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: (Psalm 103:2 KJV)

Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle. Lift up your heads, O ye gates; even lift them up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in. Who is this King of glory? The Lord of hosts, he is the King of glory. Selah. (Psalm 24:8-10 KJV)

My soul shall make her boast in the Lord: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad. (Psalm 34:2 KJV)

And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible (Mark 10:27 KJV)

Blessed be the Lord my strength which teacheth my hands to war, and my fingers to fight: (Psalm 144:1 KJV)

O come, let us sing unto the Lord: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation.Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms. For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods. In his hand are the deep places of the earth: the strength of the hills is his also. The sea is his, and he made it: and his hands formed the dry land.O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the Lord our maker. For he is our God; and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand. To day if ye will hear his voice, Harden not your heart, as in the provocation, and as in the day of temptation in the wilderness: When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my work. Forty years long was I grieved with this generation, and said, It is a people that do err in their heart, and they have not known my ways: Unto whom I sware in my wrath that they should not enter into my rest. (Psalm 95:1-11 KJV)
