Bible Study Outline on John 14:6 – Jesus Christ is the Only Way to Heaven

You Must Believe in the Trinity

Trinity

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. (John 14:6 KJV)

There is only one way to heaven, and that is by believing in Jesus. Romans 10:9 states that anyone who confesses Jesus is Lord with his mouth and believe in his heart that God has raised him on the third day can inherit eternal life and go to heaven. You cannot be a Christian if you only believe in the Father God and not believe in Jesus Christ. No one can come to the Father God except through Jesus Christ.

Jesus Christ is fully human and fully God. He was reincarnated through the virgin, Mary, so that he can be crucified on the cross for our sins. Through the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, anyone who believes in him can be saved, become the children of God and have share in eternal life in the kingdom of God.

Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost (Matthew 28:19 KJV)

But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him. (1 Corinthians 8:6 KJV)

But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. (John 14:26 KJV)

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. (John 1:1 KJV)

Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. (Philippians 2:5-8 KJV)

But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me. (John 15:26 KJV)

The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen. (2 Corinthians 13:14 KJV)

For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time. (1 Timothy 2:5-6 KJV)

And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord (Mark 12:29 KJV)

And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all. (1 Corinthians 15:28 KJV)

Don’t Incorporate the Values and Practices of Other Religions into Christianity

No-Compromise1

You cannot believe in Jesus and be involved in other religions at the same time and still be qualify for eternal life. We can only worship one God. There is only one God. God exists in trinity form including the Father God, Jesus Christ as His son and the Holy Spirit. Other people may worship idols, and treat them as god out of their ignorance but they sin when they do this because God’s commandments forbid his people to bow down and worship other gods. During the time of the judges, the people set up idols in their own home and worship them as god, without going to the worship place at Shiloh. Even though they treat the idols as god, they sin because God does not want us to bow down or worship idols.

You also cannot incorporate the values from other religions into Christianity for your convenience. There are many Christians who have read about the teachings of other religions and think they are the same teachings that are taught in the bible. However, as Christian, you should only reference one source for guidance, which is the bible. You should also not incorporate the practices from other religions such as Zen meditation, Tai Qi, yoga and etc. All these practices are ways that the pagans use to worship their gods. Practicing these meditations will not help you to be closer to God. If you want to be closer to God, you must meditate on God’s words by reading the bible every day. You must also set apart some time to pray and worship God every day.

If you follow their practices, you are compromising by saying that the gods they worship are correct. You will not knowingly open yourself to the influences of these pagan religions, which make it easier for the devil to attack you and lead you astray from God. We are not to give the devil a foothold in any aspect of our lives. The devil is always prowling for people who are weak to attack so we must always be alert and not compromise with the world.

Thou shalt have no other gods before me.Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments. (Exodus 20:3-6 KJV)

For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins (Hebrews 10:26 KJV)

If ye love me, keep my commandments. (John 14:15 KJV)

And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself. (Luke 10:27 KJV)

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. (Romans 12:1-2 KJV)

Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry (Colossians 3:5 KJV)

Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. (Romans 1:25 KJV)

Neither give place to the devil. (Ephesians 4:27 KJV)

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. (1 Peter 5:8-9 KJV)

Jesus is the Life

Jesus is the life and anyone who calls on his name will be saved. Whatever problem you are facing, you should surrender it to Jesus Christ and let him help you instead of carrying it as a burden to yourself. If you believe in God, God will answer your prayer and see you through your problem.

Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. (1 Peter 5:7)

Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. (Matthew 11:28-30 KJV)

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16 KJV)

In him was life; and the life was the light of men. (John 1:4 KJV)

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. (John 5:24 KJV)

He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. (1 John 5:12 KJV)

The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. (John 10:10 KJV)

Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. (John 8:12 KJV)

Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed. (John 6:27 KJV)
