Bible Study Outline on Loneliness
Human beings are created to be social creatures. Everyone needs to socialize and have friends. Genesis 2:18 states that it is no good for man to be alone. The need to be love and have companionship is a gift from God.
Loneliness can happen when you feel guilty, rejected, lost a loved one and etc. There is no one in this world that loves you better than God. The people of this world can make you feel disappointed but God will never disappoint you. If you feel lonely, you should talk to God about it in prayer instead of keeping it to yourself. if you keep it to yourself, God will never help you. This is because God only gives to his children when they ask. God knows everything but he won’t help you unless you ask him. You also have to make a decision to make changes in your life that are triggering the feeling of loneliness.
You can discuss your problem with friends, family members or people in the church. When you speak out about your problem, you will feel that the world is not so much a cold place as there people who will love and care for you. However, you can’t always depend on others for love. You must be a mature Christian and show love to others when you overcome your loneliness problem.
You may feel lonely when you think of the past. Loneliness is a feeling, not a fact. You can overcome loneliness by meeting and socializing with new people. Thinking too much can open a doorway for the devil to attack your mind. The devil often look for people that are easy to attack. If your mind is weak and you keep on thinking, the devil can attack you. It is no good to keep on crying and feeling sad. The most important ting is to move on and forget about the past. You will find that you achieve more when you move on and forget about the past.
Lonely people often say to themselves that they are loser and no one loves them. All these negative thoughts will encourage you to feel more lonely. Instead, you must think positively and be friendly and outgoing to people. If you stay cheerful and smile all the time, there is a lesser chance of falling into depression. Lonely people often have self deflating thoughts that lower their self esteem. If you want to overcome your loneliness and depression, you must think well of yourself and always do what you can to improve your situation.
God promises to be with his children and make them the top not the bottom. You can pray to God and the Holy Spirit can speak to you and help you to go through the feeling of loneliness. God is our best friend. He will always be there when you trust and hold on to him. If you have any problem, you can always tell him and he won’t tell others your secrets. God can help you to breakthrough if you put your trust in him.
