Bible Study Outline on Once Saved Always Saved

Many people believed in the theology, once saved always saved. It means that you will go to heaven no matter what sins you have committed as long as you believe that Jesus had died for your sins and resurrected on the third day. This is not the truth.

Some people don’t like to be preached that they will go to hell because they don’t believe in Jesus. To them, it is unfair because God must be cruel to incur such punishment and send people to hell for not believing in him. Therefore, Christians now prefer to preach, once saved always saved, as everyone is a sinner to spread the gospel.

A true Christian will be faithful to God and walk in his commandments. You cannot call yourself a Christian if you are baptized yet you continue your sinful lifestyle. If you want to go to heaven, you must live a blemish free lifestyle.

God is fair and his judgment is always right. He is a loving, merciful and compassionate God. However, this does not mean that he let loose his people to do what they want and still let them go to heaven. God wants us to obey his commandments and walk blamelessly in his ways.

Many Christians often assume that God loves them and will not count their mistakes. They want to believe that God can tolerate their sins and follow the worldly standards. Because of this, they don’t have conviction to their sins and neglected in confessing every one of their sin to God.

We are to take every word and commandment of God in the bible seriously. They are there in the bible so that we can know what kind of lifestyle God wants us to have and practice them in our daily lives.

The blood that Jesus Christ shed on the cross is only valid for those who obey him and do his commandments. Your sins will not automatically be wiped out and forgotten by God unless you confess them to God. It is very important that you confess your sin every day as you can easily forget the wrong things you do that day. You may forget and treat the sin you do every day as trivial. You must do your best to live a holy life before God.

You don’t have to go to a confession box to confess your sin. You don’t need a priest to intercede for you. All you need to do is to tell God about every single one of your sins and let him know how sorry you are for them in your prayer.

You should not let your sins accumulate daily as this can destroy your relationship with God. It will open a doorway for the devil to come in and attack you. The devil is good at accusing God’s followers. It is important to confess your sins and keep a clear conscience at all time so that the devil cannot point finger at you and make you guilty.

For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame. (Hebrews 6:4-6 KJV)

And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God; I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see. As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent. Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches. (Revelation 3:14-22 KJV)

My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand. I and my Father are one. (John 10:27-30 KJV)

For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins. (Hebrews 10:26 KJV)

Brethren, if any of you do err from the truth, and one convert him; Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins. (James 5:19-20 KJV)
