Bible Study Outline on Palmistry

Palmistry is the practice of foretelling the future by studying the lines of the palm. It has roots in various cultures and religions. It is known as Jyotish in Hindu, and I Ching in Chinese.

Palmistry is considered as an occult practice. Christians should pray and depend on God in all things. You should surrender your future to God instead of relying on your own wisdom and try to determine your future by reading your palm. Anything you do that does not rely on God and give glory to him is a sin.

In 1 Corinthians 10:31 KJV, Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God. In Colossians 3:17 KJV, and whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

Palmistry is a deception of the devil. The bible says that anyone that do occult or divination will not inherit in the kingdom of heaven. God does not want us to find out about our future through palm reading. He want to personally guide. God can speak to you through his Holy Spirit and guide you. He can also use other people or circumstances to speak to you.

As Christians, we should set ourselves apart from the world. Trying to learn about your future through palm reading is the way of the world. The non believers use all these methods to find out about their future. We have an almighty God who is ready to help us whenever we call on his name.

Some Christians may argue that they have ESP or psychic mind and they can learn about the future. However, the bible states that God does not want us to get involved in any of this practice including divination, occult, spiritists, medium, necromancy and psychic.

Anything that is not from God is from the devil. The devil like to use the world to attract Christians who are weak so that he can gain more souls in hell. We must walk faithfully in God’s commandments and never compromise with the worldly practices in any way.

Regard not them that have familiar spirits, neither seek after wizards, to be defiled by them: I am the LORD your God. (Leviticus 19:31 KJV)

And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Woe to the women that sew pillows to all armholes, and make kerchiefs upon the head of every stature to hunt souls! Will ye hunt the souls of my people, and will ye save the souls alive that come unto you? (Ezekiel 13:18 KJV)

Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. (Galatians 5:19-21 KJV)

Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever. (1 John 2:15-17 KJV)

Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: (Ephesians 2:2 KJV)

And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them (Epesians 5:11 KJV)

In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them (2 Corinthians 4:4 KJV).

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths (Proverbs 3:5-6 KJV).

Thus saith the LORD, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches: But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the LORD. (Jeremiah 9:23-24 KJV)

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart. And I will be found of you, saith the LORD: and I will turn away your captivity, and I will gather you from all the nations, and from all the places whither I have driven you, saith the LORD; and I will bring you again into the place whence I caused you to be carried away captive. (Jeremiah 29:11-14 KJV)
