How can the Holy Spirit Help Us?

259_1307831171The Holy Spirit lives in every believer. His function is as our comforter and helper. He do works. For example, in Genesis 1, when God create the earth, he  said the word, and the Holy Spirit fulfill it. God said Let there be light and the Holy Spirit create the light. Jesus Christ functions as a mediator and intercedes for us in heaven day and night. However, there is only one God. The Father God, Lord Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit are the same one God.

The Holy Spirit provides guidance to us and teach us to do God’s will. What the Holy Spirit said is always consistent with what the bible teaches. You can pray to the Holy Spirit and ask him to help you solve your problem. Praying to the Holy Spirit is just the same like praying to the Father God and Lord Jesus Christ. You start the prayer with dear Holy Spirit and then say your prayer request and end it with in Jesus name Amen.

The Holy Spirit can empower you to do things in God’s plan. For example, the Holy Spirit empowered Samson so that he has great strength and able to do things that people with normal strength cannot do such as tear the lion like a  young goat while on his way to meet his future wife in Timnah, carry the gate of Gaza to the hill top, use a donkey jawbone to defeat 1,000 Philistines and pushing the pillars of the temple of Dagon and making it collapse.

The Holy Spirit enables us to speak in tongue. When you pray in tongue, you are praying in a language that only God can understand. No one can understand what you pray. He searches our hearts and know our thoughts and emotions. He will intercede to God about your problems and needs when you pray in tongue. Speaking in tongue can only edify and build up your relationship with God. It is contrary to praying in words, in which those who listen can understand and be built up.

The Holy Spirit is our seal of redemption. If you are a child of God, you will have the Holy Spirit. This does not mean that only those who speak in tongue have the Holy Spirit. Speaking in tongue is one of the 9 gifts of the Holy Spirit. There are 9 fruit of the Spirit. You are to cultivate these 9 fruit to set a good role model as a Christian. Complete submission to God will enable the Holy Spirit to change you inward slowly until you develop the 9 fruit of the Spirit.

But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. (John 14:26 KJV)

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. (Galatians 5:22-23 KJV)

What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s. (1 Corinthians 6:19-20 KJV)

If ye love me, keep my commandments. And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. (John 14:15-17 KJV)

If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?  (Luke 11:13 KJV)

I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you. All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you. (John 16:12-15 KJV)

And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: Of sin, because they believe not on me; Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more; Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged. (John 16:7-15 KJV)

And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them. (Ezekiel 36:26-27 KJV)
