Bible Study Outline on Twisting God’s Word

Twisting God’s words is defining God’s words to the way you want to understand it. Everyone has a free will to follow God’s commandments. God will not force you to walk in his commandments. We have a free will to choose what we want to believe. There are many Christians who twist God’s words, by changing the real meaning of a scripture, for their own benefits. The bible says that many false prophets will rise up at the end time. False prophets are those who did not preach the gospel and God’s words correctly. Examples of false prophets are Jehovah’s witnesses, Mormons, false prophets who are actually under the leadership of Satan.

2 Timothy 2:15 says that it is important to study the word so that we can be a workman that need not to be ashamed but rightly diving the word of truth. It is important that you study God’s words so that you understand it correctly. If you don’t have good understanding of God’s words, there is a tendency that you can misunderstood it and easily led astray by someone else’s false preaching. Many Christians do not read the bible but they only go to the church every Saturday or Sunday to hear the preacher’s preaching. If the preacher preach the word falsely, they will also misunderstand it and not abide in Christ in their lifestyles.

It is dangerous to have little knowledge of the bible. A Christian should finish reading and studying the whole bible. If you don’t understand what you read in the bible, you can ask an elder or fellow Christian that knows the bible. Many Christians want to go to preachers that preach what they want to listen. We should not be like that but be humble and choose to listen to the truth.

The Pharisees are the false teachers in the days of Jesus. Jesus Christ pointed out that the Pharisees do everything as a show to the public. They do not practice what they preach. We must take God’s words exactly what they mean instead of trying to find ways to change the meaning to suit your convenience.

For example, when God says do not put tattoo marks on yourself (Leviticus 19:28), you should not look at the word in front do not cut your bodies for the dead and give an excuse that God is actually referring to those who mourn for the dead should not to tattoo themselves. The Old Testament commandments still apply to Christians and they are still obliged to follow them. However, Christians no longer have to follow the ritual and complicated commandments in the Old Testament.

Every day they wrest my words: all their thoughts are against me for evil. (Psalm 56:5 KJV)

For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry. (2 Timothy 4:3-5 KJV)

Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth. (1 Timothy 4:1-3 KJV)

Bible Study Outline on the Rebellion of Korah

Korah, Dathan and Abiram was involved in a rebellion against Moses. They argued with Moses that he is not the only one qualified to lead the Israelite as they claim that everyone else in the assembly is holy. Korah was proud and he thought he could be a better leader than Moses. Moses was angry when he heard Korah’s argument and he told him and his followers to put burning coals and incense in censers before the Lord in the next morning and God will show who is the one he has chosen to be holy. This made the Lord very angry and he open up the earth which swallows Korah, Dathan and Abiram and those that are associated with them.

God is all knowing and he knows which one is the right person to do his job. You don’t have to tell God or prove to him that you are qualified for doing his job. God is not interested in choosing the popular people to do his job. Korah, may be a qualified leader but he is arrogant and vain glory. Korah wanted to promote himself to become the leader of Israel so he rebel against Moses.

The leaders that God called are humble and look after the parish with care. They have good understanding of the bible so that they can preach the word correctly and lead the parish in the right path. False prophets are not called by God but they, like Korah, self promote themselves, by preaching false doctrines. They are like wolves disguising in sheep’s clothing, who had come to deceive the flock and lead them away from the shepherd, Jesus Christ.

Vain glory is a sin that Christian leaders often get trapped into. It is easy to be proud when you are doing very well in your ministry. However, we must remember to always be humble and know that it is Jesus who gives us our successes. We must attribute all our successes to God and give him all the glory instead of glorifying ourselves.  Many famous evangelists who used to be faithful to God when they just started out have become arrogant and selfish and materialistic. We must take care not to let pride enter into our hearts as they can cause us to walk away from Christ.

Christians must not be proud and be willing to associate with those in the low social position.  Jesus had a successful ministry because he always humble himself and put God’s will first in his life. God exalts the humble but he will bring low the proud.

If ye love me, keep my commandments. (John 14:15 KJV)

As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance: (1 Peter 1:14 KJV)

Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men. (Acts 5:29 KJV)

For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous. (1 John 5:3 KJV)

but I do as the Father has commanded me, so that the world may know that I love the Father. Rise, let us go from here. (John 14:31 KJV)

Truly, truly, I say to you, if anyone keeps my word, he will never see death.” (John 8:54 KJV)

Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. (Philippians 2:3 KJV)

Thus saith the Lord, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches:

But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the Lord which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the Lord. (Jeremiah 9:23-24 KJV)

But if thou shalt indeed obey his voice, and do all that I speak; then I will be an enemy unto thine enemies, and an adversary unto thine adversaries. (Exodus 23:22 KJV)

I will keep your law continually, forever and ever, (Psalm 119:44 KJV)

For he clave to the Lord, and departed not from following him, but kept his commandments, which the Lord commanded Moses. (2 Kings 18:6 KJV)

I made haste, and delayed not to keep thy commandments. (Psalm 119:60 KJV)

Whoever keeps his commandments abides in God,[a] and God[b] in him. And by this we know that he abides in us, by the Spirit whom he has given us. (1 John 3;24 KJV)

This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. (2 Timothy 18:1-5 KJV)

Bible Study Outline on The Seven Deadly Sins

The seven deadly sins is found in Proverbs 6:16-19 which are a proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, an heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, a false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.

These six things doth the Lord hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren. (Proverbs 6:16-19 KJV)

Proud Look

Proud look, pride leads to the destruction of a person. God does not like us to be proud. He wants us to humble ourselves before him. God exalts the humble but bring the proud down. The devil Satan also known as Lucifer, used to be one of the 3 arch angels in heaven but he was proud and wanted to be like God. As a result, God threw him and his followers down from heaven to hell. Satan means adversary and accuser in Hebrew. Satan is smart at deceiving and accusing people before the throne of God. Pride is the root of all sins and that is why it is listed as the worst sin. When you are proud in your heart, it will demonstrate in your look and eyes.

Every one that is proud in heart is an abomination to the Lord: though hand join in hand, he shall not be unpunished. (Proverbs 16:5 KJV)

Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall. Better it is to be of an humble spirit with the lowly, than to divide the spoil with the proud. (Proverbs 16:18-19 KJV)

The fear of the Lord is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate. (Proverbs 8:13 KJV)

When pride cometh, then cometh shame: but with the lowly is wisdom. (Proverbs 11:2 KJV)

A man’s pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit. (Proverbs 29:23 KJV)

For if anyone thinks he is something, when he is nothing, he deceives himself. (Galatians 6:3 KJV)

Do you see a man who is wise in his own eyes? There is more hope for a fool than for him. (Proverbs 26:12 KJV)

Let another praise you, and not your own mouth;  a stranger, and not your own lips. (Proverbs 27:2 KJV)

Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves. (Philippians 2:3 KJV)

For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. (1 John 2:16 KJV)

Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits. (Romans 12:16 KJV)

Who is the wise man, that may understand this? and who is he to whom the mouth of the Lord hath spoken, that he may declare it, for what the land perisheth and is burned up like a wilderness, that none passeth through? And the Lord saith, Because they have forsaken my law which I set before them, and have not obeyed my voice, neither walked therein; But have walked after the imagination of their own heart, and after Baalim, which their fathers taught them: Therefore thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will feed them, even this people, with wormwood, and give them water of gall to drink. I will scatter them also among the heathen, whom neither they nor their fathers have known: and I will send a sword after them, till I have consumed them. (Jeremiah 9:12-16 KJV)

Lying Tongue

Revelation 21:8 records that all liars will be consigned to the lake of burning sulfur in the second death. There are many ways of lying including directly for protecting yourself, lying by omission, exaggerations, gossiping and etc. Christians are not to lie even if you are doing it to spread the gospel. Lying is a sin and you must avoid it at all circumstances. White lies are lies too even though it is harmless.

Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. (John 8:44 KJV)

The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. (John 10:10 KJV)

And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, without understanding, covenant breakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them. (Romans 1:28-32 KJV)

There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it. (1 Corinthians 10:13 KJV)

Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds; And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him: (Colossians 3:9-10 KJV)

Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons. (Genesis 3:1-7 KJV)

Hands that Shed Innocent Blood

Hands that shed innocent blood is comparable to how Jesus Christ was crucified on the cross by the Roman soldiers when he had not done any crime that deserve the punishment. Shedding innocent blood does not just point to killers who kill people with weapons. It also refers to other crimes such as abortions; advertisements that influence you to buy something that will destroy your health such as cigarettes, alcohols, drugs and weight loss pills.

Thou shalt not kill. (Exodus 20:13 KJV)

For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie. (Revelation 22:15 KJV)

But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. (Revelation 21:8 KJV)

Keep thee far from a false matter; and the innocent and righteous slay thou not: for I will not justify the wicked. (Exodus 23:7 KJV)

An Heart that Deviseth Wicked Imaginations

An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations refers to plotting evil against someone. This example can be seen in King David who used Uriah, Bathsheba’s husband, to deliver his own death sentence in a letter to Joab, the army commander who was besieging Rabbah. God used the prophet Nathan to point out his wrong. Although God forgave him, he still get punished. God’s punishment can be seen in the turmoils in his family. Amnon raped Tamar and now Absalom took revenge by killing him. Absalom ran to Geshur and hid there for 3 years before coming back. Some time after he came back, he plotted to overthrow his father’s kingdom so that David had to ran for his life. Eventually, Absalom was killed but he had already raped his father’s concubine. The same sin that David committed, he slept with Bathsheba when she was the wife of Uriah and then she got pregnant. However, their baby son die soon afterwards as a punishment of God.

And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you. (Ephesians 4:32 KJV)

For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: (Matthew 6:14 KJV)

For their feet run to evil, and make haste to shed blood. (Proverbs 1:16 KJV)

For their heart studieth destruction, and their lips talk of mischief. (Proverbs 24:2 KJV)

Their feet run to evil, and they make haste to shed innocent blood: their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity; wasting and destruction are in their paths. (Isaiah 59:7 KJV)

What then? are we better than they? No, in no wise: for we have before proved both Jews and Gentiles, that they are all under sin; As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one. Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips: Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness: Their feet are swift to shed blood: Destruction and misery are in their ways: And the way of peace have they not known: There is no fear of God before their eyes. Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God. Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin. (Romans 3:9-20 KJV)

Feet that be Swift in Running to Mischief

Feet that be swift in running to mischief refers to those who are quick in taking part in an evil crime with others. Some people has a weakness in doing mischief. As a result, they got into troubles frequently. They do not think about the consequences and do bad things without thinking twice as their hearts do not have any conviction at all. A Christian may have conviction from the Holy Spirit when he thinks of doing something bad. If you have this kind of weakness, you can ask God to help you overcome it through prayer.

Whoever makes a practice of sinning is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil. (1 John 3:8 KJV)

Then desire when it has conceived gives birth to sin, and sin when it is fully grown brings forth death. (James 1:15)

These are wells without water, clouds that are carried with a tempest; to whom the mist of darkness is reserved for ever. For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them who live in error. While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage. For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning. For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them. But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire. (2 Peter 2:17-22 KJV)

A False Witness that Speaketh Lies

A false witness that speaketh lies refers to a witness who tell lies when giving a witness. It is wrong to tell a lie during a witness, no matter if it is for a good intention. When you lie, you will have to tell other lies to cover it up. This can caused the lies that you made to catch up and come back to you.

Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honour thy father and mother. (Mark 10:19 KJV)

Thou shalt not raise a false report: put not thine hand with the wicked to be an unrighteous witness. (Exodus 23:1 KJV)

A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he that speaketh lies shall not escape. (Proverbs 19:5 KJV)

He that Soweth Discord Among Brethren

He that soweth discord among brethren refers to those who stirs up conflict among people so that they quarrel and there are divisions. Gossiping is an example of how a person can cause discord and division in the community. You must control your mouth by being careful not to chit chatting about someone else’s business. If someone gossip, you must stay out of it.

But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. Forthe desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do.  But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, thatthose who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness,self-control; against such things there is no law. And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another. (Galatians 5:16-25 KJV)

I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. (Ephesians 4:1-3 KJV)

Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them. (Romans 16:17 KJV)

Bible Study Outline on New Beginnings

When you become a new believer in Christ, you must change
lifestyle by getting rid of the bad habits. No one can be perfect but we must try to live our lives holy for God. A person that has a real relationship with Christ will show changes from his previous lifestyle. Everyone sins and no one is without sin. This is because we are all the generations of Adam and Eve. Adam and Eve disobeyed God by eating from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. Everyone of us is a work in progress in Christ. You must make up your mind to get rid your bad habit and stop living your sinful lifestyle before your spiritual life can improve.

Every Christian must love God. To love God is not to be involved in a romantic relationship with him but to abide and do his commandments. This mean you must put Jesus Christ first in your life in everything that you do. You must always think of others first before carrying out any decision. Your motive must be out of love and faith, not for your selfish gain, even if what you are doing is spreading the gospel.

You must hate sin and live a holy life for God. For some people, they have weaknesses in different sins so they may need help from God to overcome them. You must not compromise for the sake of convenience or comfort. Many Christians have compromise and incorporate worldly practices into their lives for the sake of fulfulling their own desires. You must not be afraid of standing out of the crowd by doing God’s commandments but be bold and show yourself as a good role model. In this way, other people will know that you are a real believer and come to believe in Jesus Christ.

You must not be anxious but learn to submit your burdens to God through prayer. Every Christian must learn how to pray and surrender their problems to God. You should let Jesus Christ carry the burden for you instead of keeping it all to yourself. God is the creator and he is the source of all things. He knows the solutions to every problems so he surely knows how to solve your problems. You should pray frequently, spending time as you can in prayer with God every day. You must not be too busy with your work until you forgot to pray.

Christians must not just be church goer and merely listen to the pastor preaching and then go back home and do nothing. You must read the word of God in the bible and apply them in your life.

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart. And I will be found of you, saith the Lord: and I will turn away your captivity, and I will gather you from all the nations, and from all the places whither I have driven you, saith the Lord; and I will bring you again into the place whence I caused you to be carried away captive. (Jeremiah 29:11-14 KJV)

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. (2 Corinthians 5:17 KJV)

Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert. (Isaiah 43:19 KJV)

It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. The Lord is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him. (Lamentations 3:22-24 KJV)

That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. (Ephesians 4:22-24 KJV)

Bible Study Outline on Wisdom is the Fear of the Lord

Wisdom begun with the fear of the Lord. God’s commandments are always right. God loves us and he wants us to walk in light, not in darkness, Doing God’s commandments will give you life. To fear God is do what he requires for us in his commandments. His commandments are written in the bible. You must strictly adhere to what the bible teaches without deviating in any way. Many Christians like to compromise by incorporating some worldly practices and philosophy into their faith .

To have fear of the Lord is to respect God and worship him. You must respect God’s presence at all time. For example, during worship or pastor preaching, you must not talk on phone. The fear of the Lord is different than fear and anxiety. We must fear God in everything we do instead of fearing men. To fear God is also to submit to authorities and abide by the government law. God set up his law through the government to prevent crime from happening. If you do crime, you are subject to punishment by the law.

There is no fear in perfect love because perfect love casts out fear. You must get rid of all kinds of fear that hold you back in life. Having fear is not healthy. Fear can cause stress and stress can cause sicknesses. You want to be not just physically healthy but also mentally healthy. If you have a certain kind of fear or phobia that you cannot overcome, you can tell God about it and ask him to help you. You should not fear about what will happen in the future and keep on pondering on it as today has enough to worry about. All you need to do is to surrender all your anxieties to God and let him help you.

If you want God to guide your life, you must first do his commandments. When you are obedient to God, the Holy Spirit will speak to you and guide you in your life. You can seek wisdom from God in how to do various kinds of things and solving different types of problems. The Holy Spirit is sent by God to help us. He is the Helper and Comforter sent by God. He can guide us in all things. If you trust in God and believe that he will do what you ask for in prayer, he will answer your prayer and grant your prayer request.

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding. (Proverbs 9:10 KJV)

And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding. (Job 28:28 KJV)

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever. (Psalm 111:10 KJV)

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction. (Proverbs 1:7 KJV)

I neither learned wisdom, nor have the knowledge of the holy. (Proverbs 30:3 KJV)

Thus saith the LORD, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches: 24But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the LORD. (Jeremiah 9:23-24 KJV)

Bible Study Outline on Witchcraft, Occult, Spiritism and Psychic

Christians cannot practice witchcraft because it is against God’s commandments (Exodus 22:18l Leviticus 19:31; Leviticus 20:27). Witchcraft is from Satan. Just believing in Jesus Christ will not get you a passport to heaven (Revelation 21:8; Galatians 5:19-21; Revelation 22:15). If you want to enter heaven, you must keep your life holy. Nowadays, there are many television shows and movies that have witchcraft influences. Children movies often incorporate witch and goblin characters which are all witchcraft.

Consequently, children who watch these movies also become curious about witchcraft and want to practice it. You may argue that the witches in the movies are friendly and the spells they use are not real but all these can influence our minds when we watch them. Watching witchcraft movies and reading witchcraft books will eventually brainwash your mind and make you want to justify that Christians can practice witchcraft (1 Corinthians 6:19-20).

Witchcraft is receiving more and more acceptance and popularity in the society. Almost all bookstore has a section on occult books. Occult games such as Ouija biards are widely available in toy store. Many video games also feature characters such as witches, sorcerers, demons and etc. Many music lyrics contain Satanic and witchcraft words. Many music videos also show the singer doing Satanist symbols. Halloween is a day observed by Christians on October 31 prior to Christmas. With the availability of internet, anyone can go online to learn about witchcraft, psychic, spiritism and etc.

Christians must not seek after witchcraft to solve their problems. You are not to go to a fortune teller to find out about your future (Jeremiah 29:11-14). You are not to read horoscope to find out about your daily fate. You are also not to practice to be a psychic such as telekinesis, teleportation, telepathy as all these are witchcrafts. Psychic is not an ability that God wants us to practice even though you may argue that God gives everyone this ability. However, the bible clearly speaks against psychic so we should not practice it. We must take God’s commandment seriously and not try to find ways to twist God’s word so that we can do what we want.

Witchcraft is a sin no matter if it is done with good or bad intention (Acts 9:0; Ezekiel 13:18). Anything that we do that does not rely on God is sin (Proverbs 3:5-6; 1 Peter 5:7). God is always paying attention to our prayers (Isaiah 26:4; Philippians 4:19; John 6:63; 1 John 5:15). We must learn to be patient in waiting for God to answer our prayer. When you are persistent in prayer, you will learn how to trust God (Luke 11:9-10; 1 Thessalonians 5:17). If you doubt in God and does not really think he can do it, God will not answer your prayer (Hebrews 11:6). Doubting in God is a sin. Whatever you want in life, you should seek God’s help in prayer. Prayer can help to build up your Christian life so that you become more spiritually mature.

God has a good plan for each and everyone of us. If you are worry about your future, you should ask him to show you what you should do in life. Bible Study Outline on Queen Esther

Search for a Young Virgin in the Kingdom to Become the Queen

King Ahasuerus decided to find another queen after he divorced Queen Vashti. He divorced Queen Vashti because she refused to come before him and show off her beauty to the people. HIs personal attendants suggested that searches be made for young virgins for the king.

There was a young Jewish man called Mordecai who lived in the citadel of Susa after he was carried into exile from Jerusalem. Mordecai had a orphan cousin, called Hadassah, whom he had helped to bring up. Her name is also known as Esther. Esther was among one of the many women that were taken into the palace.

Before going to the king, each woman had to go through 12 months of beauty treatments. In the first 6 months, the young woman will be treated with oil of myrrh. In the second 6 months, the young woman will be treated with perfumes. Esther followed Hegai’s suggestions and she won the favor of others. She entered into the royal residence in the month of Tebeth, the 10th month.

King Ahasuerus liked Esther more than oher women so he crowned her as the queen. After that, King Ahasuerus held a large banquet, proclaimed a holiday and distributed gifts to the people.

Mordecai Prevented an Assassination Attempt

Mordecai already become a guard at the king’s gate when the virgins came together for the second time. Modercai reported the conspiration of Bigthana and Teresh to assasinate King Ahasuerus. When it was found that the report is true, the two officials were impaled on the poles. The incident was recorded in the book of annals.

Haman’s Plan to Destroy the Jews

At this time, King Ahasuerus promoted Haman into the highest official in the kingdom. Haman noticed that Mordecai don’t bow down to pay honor to Haman so he was enraged. Mordecai refused to bow down to Haman because he was a Jew. When Haman found out that Mordecai was a Jew, he plotted to kill all the Jews in the kingdom.

Mordecai Asked for Esther’s Help

Broca Permission to Speak full

Haman suggested to King Ahasuerus that he issue a decree to destroy the Jews. According to Haman, the Jews were disobedient to the king’s laws so the king should not tolerate them.  On the 13th of the first month, the royal secretary put in words the script into the languages of 127 provinces and sealed it with King Ahasuerus’ ring. After that, dispatchers sent the decree to all the provinces. The script contained order to destroy all the Jews. When the Jews read the king’s order, they became sad.

When Mordecai learned about the news, he tore his clothes, wore sack clothes, put ashes and go around wailing loudly. Esther sent clothes for Mordecai when she found out about it. However, Mordecai refused to put on the clothes. After that, Esther sent Hathak, the eunuch that attended her to ask Mordecai why he was troubled.

When Hathak asked Mordecai, Mordecai told him all about it and gave him a copy of the edict published in Susa. Mordecai asked Esther to go to the king and beg him to have mercy on the people. At first, Esther was reluctant to help. She agreed to help after Mordecai rebuked him, saying they would eventually find a way to escape, but she and her father’s family will perish. Before Esther go into the king’s presence, she asked the Jews in Susa to fast with her for 3 days.

On the 3rd day, Esther wore her royal robe and went into the king’s hall. The king led out his scepter and asked her what she want. She replied she wanted the king and Haman to come to a dinner she had prpared.

Both the king and Haman attended Esther’s banquet. While they were drinking, the king asked Esther what does she want. In turn, Esther replied that she will answer the question after the king and Haman to attend another banquet that she prepare for them tomorrow.

The next day, the king and Haman attended Esther’s banquet. During the meal, the king asked Esther what does she want again. This time, Esther revealed the evil plot of Haman to kill her and her people. King Ahasuerus was angry when he learned about it and he went into the palace garden.

Haman stayed behind to beg for his life. When King Ahasuerus return from the palace garden, he saw Haman falling on the couch where Esther was reclining and he got even more furious. Haman’s face was covered and he was impaled on the 50 cubits tall pole that he had constructed for Mordecai.

Esther Saved the Jews

King Ahasuerus gave Esther the permission to write another decree to overrule the decree that Haman had dispatched. Mordecai was put in charge over Haman’s estate. He was also promoted and now wear royal garments of blue and white, a large crown of gold and a purple robe of fine linen.

The royal secretaries put down Mordecai’s orders on the script and sent to the 127 provinces. The order ruled that the Jews can defend themselves againat the enemies on the 13th of the twelth month, Adar. The Jews celebrated after reading the law published in their cities. A large number of people of other nationalities became Jews because they were afraid of getting killed during the war.The

On the 13th of Adar, the Jews killed the enemies. he 10 sons of Haman were also killed. Esther requested that the 10 sons of Haman be impaled on the poles and the king ordered it to be done. Esther begged the king to extend the edict to the next day so that the Jews also come together to kill the enemies on the 14th of Adar.

The Jews celebrated the victory by giving food and gifts to the poor. This festival is called Purim. Queen Esther and Mordecai wrote letters to the 127 provinces to confirm the celebration of Purim.

What Can We Learn from Esther?

Esther was courageous. She risked her life to beseech the king to beg him to save the Jews. Anyone who go into the king’s presence without being summoned will die if the king did not hold out the scepter. We must be courageous at necessary circumstances in order to carry out the king’s commandment. In whatever situation, you must seek God in prayer and ask him to help you.

I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. (Philippians 4:13 KJV)

Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest. (Joshua 1:9 KJV)

Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee. (Deuteronomy 31:6 KJV)

Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. (Romans 8:37 KJV)

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. (Romans 8:28 KJV)

Bible Study Outline on Aaron

Aaron was the helper of Moses. First God called Moses to lead the Israelites out of Egypt. Moses happened to encounter God in a burning bush when he was looking after the sheep of his father in law, Jethro. He was curious to see a bush that has flame of fire but not burning so he came there to see what was happening. When he came to the burning bush, God told him to take off his shoes because he was standing on the Holy Ground. God wanted Moses to lead the Israelites out of Egypt but Moses resused that. He told God that no one would believe him so God let him work miracles with his staff. Then, he complained that he was not eloquent. God was angry with Moses and he said he would send his older brother, Aaron to become his assistant.

When Moses was on his way to Egypt, Aaron met him. Moses and Aaron gathered the Israelites together and told them that God had sent them to deliver them out of their slavery in Egypt. Aaron was the assistant of Moses. He was the one that held his staff over to perform miracles. God spoke to Moses and Moses told Aaron what God spoke to him so that Aaron could do God’s commands. Moses acted like God to Aaron. “And the LORD said unto Moses, See, I have made thee a god to Pharaoh: and Aaron thy brother shall be thy prophet. Thou shalt speak all that I command thee: and Aaron thy brother shall speak unto Pharaoh, that he send the children of Israel out of his land.” (Exodus 7:1-2 KJV)

God used Moses and Aaron to struck Egypt with 1o plagues including the plague of blood, the plague of frogs, the plague of gnats, the plague of flies, the plague of livestock, the plague of boils, the plague of hail, the plague of locusts, the plague of darkness, and the plague of firstborn. After the final plague of the firstborn, Pharaoh let Israelites go but he changed his mind later and pursued them when they were near the Red Sea. God performed a miracle by dividing the Red Sea and the Israelites crossed over safely.

Aaron Made the Golden Calf

The story about how Aaron made the golden calf can be found in Exodus 32. Moses went up to Mount Sinai to receive the Law and Commandments from God in stones. Moses was on Mount Sinai for 40 days and 40 nights. When the Israelites saw that Moses disappeared, they turned away from God and asked Aaron to make a golden calf. Aaron agreed and instructed them to remove their golden earrings. After collecting the golden earrings, Aaron melted them and fashioned them into a golden idol. Then some Israelites proclaimed before the public that the golden calf was their god. Aaron built an altar when he saw this and announced a festival of the golden calf on the next day.

When Moses was on Mount Sinai, God told him that the Israelites had already turned away from him and bowed down before the golden calf. When Moses and Joshua were coming down from the mountain, Joshua heard people shouting out in the camp and that was like the sound of war. Moses replied he did not hear the sound of victory or defeat but he heard the sound of singing. When Moses reached the bottom of the mountain, he was very angry with the Israelites for worshiping the golden idol. He burned the golden calf in fire.

Moses asked Aaron why he made the golden calf and he answered that Israelites forced him. Moses said people that they should repent and go to the Lord with him. Only Levites went. Then Moses said the Levites to take their swords and kill their brothers, friends and neighbors. The Levites did what Moses said and killed many Israelites. On the next day Moses interceded for the Israelites and God relented from his anger.

God Punished Aaron’s Two Sons for Offering Unauthorized Fire

Aaron had four sons including Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar. Nadab and Abihu sinned by offering strange fire. They are not supposed to light the offerings in the censers. They are supposed to wait for God to send the fire to consume the offering. Thus, they were offering unauthorized fire from God. God was very angry with them and he consumed them with fire. Moses did not allow Aaron or his other sons but his relatives may mourn for their death. Mishael and Elzaphan, the sons of Aaron’s uncle Uzziel carried out the corpses of Nadab and Abihu. This account can be found in Leviticus 10.

Aaron Pleaded God to Cure Miriam’s Leprosy

One day, Aaron and Miriam started to talk against Moses. They did not think that Moses should be the leader of the Israelites. They felt that other people are also qualified to the leader of Israelites. Moses was a very humble person. In fact, he was the most humble man on earth (Numbers 12:3). Then, God summoned the three of them out to the Tent of Meeting. God said Moses is the one he had chosen to lead the Israelites. Moses had been faithful in all that God commanded him to do. Because Moses was faithful, God spoke to him face to face, clearly and he can see th eform of God.

God was very angry with Aaron and Miriam and he struck Miriam with leprosy. Miriam’s skin turned white as snow due to leprosy after the cloud lifted from the tent. Aaron begged Moses to not let Miriam suffer from leprosy. Moses cried out to God and God instructed Miriam to be confined outside the camp for 7 days. After Miriam was confined outside the camp for 7 days, she was healed from the leprosy. The Israelites did not moved on until Miriam returned back to the camp.

Aaron’s Staff Budded with Almond Blossoms

God commanded Moses to collect the staff from each of the 12 tribal leaders. The name of the tribal leader is to be written on the staff. Moses was to put the staff of the 12 tribal leaders along with Aaron’s staff in the Tent of Meeting. The staff of the man whom God chose to become priest will sprout.

In the next day, the staff of Aaron started to sprout and bud. Moses presented the staffs of the 12 tribal leaders to the Israelites. The staff of Aaron was placed in front of the ark of the covenant. God did this so that there will be no more grumbling against him and fighting of the priesthood and that they will not die. This account can be found in Numbers 17.

You can use different types of music instruments to praise God such as tambourine, guitar, drums and etc. When worshiping, you should raise both of your hands and worship God in spirit and truth. In Ephesians 5:19, speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord. Psalm 149 Outline

– Sing a new song to God (Psalm 149:1)

– Let the Israelites rejoice in God (Psalm 149:2-5)

– May God take vengeance on the enemies (Psalm 149:6-9)

Psalm 149 Summary

In Psalm 149:1, sing a new song to God and praise him in the assembly of the faithful.

In Psalm 149:2-5, let the Israelites rejoice in God, the creator and praise him with dancing, tambourine, and harp. God delights in those who fear him and humble themselves down to acknowledge him. Therefore, those who humble themselves to God will inherit eternal life in heaven.

In Psalm 149:6-9, may God take vengeance on the enemies of the Israelites and capture them so that the Israelites can offer praises to God. The two edged swords in their hands refer to God’s words. One edge of the sword is God’s laws and the other edge of the sword is the gospel. God’s laws cut into the hearts of men, working in their conscience and convict them of their sins. The other edge of the sword is the gospel, which cut down self centeredness in a human being, teaching them to deny themselves and ungodliness.

Psalm 149 Bible Study

1. Meditate on God’s words every day

Christians should read the bible and meditate on God’s words every day. God’s word is the double edged sword. If you read the bible, you will know and understand how God wants you to live your life. In Hebrews 4-12, for the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. In Ephesians 5:26, that he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, In Ephesians 6:17, and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
