Bible Study Ouline on Being Born Again

Being born again in the context of Christianity involves spiritual rebirth. Everyone of us is born in the flesh when we came out of our mother’s wombs. On the other hand, spiritual rebirth means being born again by God’s spirit. Faith itself is insufficient to get saved and obtain eternal life. True spiritual birth requires true repentance and faith in Jesus Christ. Born again Christians already die to their own selves by quitting their bad habits and live a new life in Jesus Christ. If you are a born again Christian, you will demonstrate the fruit of the Spirit.

God is a spirit and his children must worship him in truth and spirit. To worship God means to pay respect to God. In order to be born again in Christ, you must meditate on God’s words and live by his commandments. Jesus said that only those who have been born again in Christ will be able to see and enter the kingdom of God.In 1 John 2:29, everyone that do righteousness is born of God. In 1 John 3:9, a person that is born of God will not continue to live in a sinful lifestyle because the seed of God is in him. If you find youself keep on getting trapped in repeating your sin even though you want to change, you should tell it to God and ask him to give you the strength to overcome it.

A person that is born of God will demonstrate love for others (1 John 5:1). Loving others is the most important commandment in the bible as all God’s commandment hang on this commandment. To love others means to be kind, considerate and helpful to those who need your help. Serving at the church by helping in volunteering in different areas of the ministry is one way of loving others. If you love others, you will be humble, tolerant, gentle towards others. You will avoid gossiping, backbiting, grumbling, murmuring, arguing, and yelling at others.

A person who is born of God will never dis-acknowledge God even when he is being persecuted and rejected by others. Jesus said that those who love their family members more than him is not worthy of being his disciple. Anyone that is born of God will be able to overcome worldliness with their faith. Christians are not to compromise with the world in any way but let their life completely being led by the Holy Spirit.
There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews: The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him. Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born? Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit. (John 3:1-8 KJV)

He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. (John 3:36 KJV)

Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. (John 3:3 KJV)

In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will: That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ. In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory. (Ephesians 1:11-14 KJV)

I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. (Galatians 2:20 KJV)

Will God Destroy the Earth Again by Flood?

In Noah days, humankind are so evil that it cause God to regret of creating them. As a result, he decided to destroy them with flood. Only Noah found favor in God’s eyes. Noah is obedient and always do what God says so God decided to spare his life. God commanded Noah to build an ark so that he could save himself, his family members and the animals. Noah is to bring two of every kind of creatures into the ark with him during the floor so that they will be kept alive. Noah is to take every kind of food for himself and the animals. When the flood ended, the ark came to rest on the Ararat mountain.

The first thing that Noah did is to offer a sacrifice of some of the clean animals and birds to God. When God smell the pleasing aroma of the sacrifice, he decided not to destroy all living creatures with flood water again as he has done even though mankind are subjected to sin. Romans 3:23 states that all men have sinned and fall short of God’s glory. The earth needs a savior to save and deliver them from their sins. God put a rainbow in the sky as a sign of the covenant he made with Noah. The rainbow always appear after rain.

However, this does not mean that there will be no more flood again. The covenant that God made with Noah is that he will not destroy the creations in the entire earth with flood waters again. During the last days, those who are left behind from the rapture will have to experience the calamities. Different natural disasters will occur when Jesus comes back for the second time including storm, earthquake, flood, and etc.

God showed his intolerance towards sin via Noah’s flood. He was merciful to Noah an save him and his family because he was righteous. He made the first covenant in the bible with Noah. The flood did not get rid of the sinful nature of humankind. We are all used to be dead in our sins. We used to be slaves to our sins and belong to the devil. Despite that, God loves us and decided to offer his salvation by sending his son, Jesus Christ to come to the earth to die for our sins.

In 2 Peter 3:5-7, Peter prophesied that God will destroy the earth with fire one day just as how God destroyed all living beings by flood in Noah days. This will be the final judgment just as how it was with the deluge that took place globally during Noah days. Now is the time to repent. We should not be like those who die during the days of Noah. They made fun of Noah’s warning and did not prepare for the day the flood came. Noah trusted in God and built the ark.

For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water: Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished: But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men. (2 Peter 3:5-7 KJV)

Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin. (James 4:17 KJV)

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. (Romans 6:23 KJV)

If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us. (1 John 1:8-10 KJV)

For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; (Romans 3:23 KJV)

For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another. For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another. This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law. Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another. (Galatians 5:13-26 KJV)

Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. (James 4:7 KJV)

There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it. (1 Corinthians 10:13 KJV)

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. (John 3:16-17 KJV)

Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. (1 John 3:4 KJV)

All unrighteousness is sin: and there is a sin not unto death. (1 John 5:17 KJV)

And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. (1 Thessalonians 3:23 KJV)

And an highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; but it shall be for those: the wayfaring men, though fools, shall not err therein. (Isaiah 35:8 KJV)

And ye shall be holy unto me: for I the Lord am holy, and have severed you from other people, that ye should be mine. (Leviticus 20:26 KJV)

If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, and prepared unto every good work. (2 Timothy 2:21 KJV)

But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light; (1 Peter 2:9 KJV)

For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness. (1 Thessalonians 4:7 KJV)

And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. (1 Thessalonians 5:23 KJV)

Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord: (Hebrews 12:14 KJV)

As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance: But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy. (1 Peter 1:14-16 KJV)

Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him. Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous. He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother. (1 John 3:6-10 KJV)

Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God. (2 Corinthians 7:1 KJV)

There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it. (1 Corinthians 10:13 KJV)
