Bible Study Outline on Living Water

The first time Jesus mention living water was when he met a Samaritan woman who came to draw some water from the well. Jesus asked the Samaritan woman for a drink but the Samaritan woman question how could he asked for a drink when he is a Jew. In those days, the Jews never associate with the Samaritans. The Samaritans are from Samaria and they are mostly pagans.

Jesus replied to the Samaritan woman if she knew what is the gift of God and who she was speaking to, she would ask for the living water. Jesus stated that she will never be thirsty again if she drink the living water. The Samaritan woman then ask Jesus to give her the living water but Jesus asked her to call her husband. The Samaritan woman lied she had no husband but Jesus revealed her secret by saying she had 5 husbands and the one she is with now is not her husband.

Water is very important to the trees, human beings and animals. Without water, we all living things will die. Just as water is a necessity of life. having Jesus in your life is also a necessity for everyone. Without Jesus in your life, your soul will die. We always try to quench the thirst of our soul with different things such as materialism but we soon get thirsty. The only thing that can quench the thirst of your soul is believing in Jesus Christ and follow him. Believing in Jesus is the only way for you to live eternally with God. You can quench your spiritual thirst by taking up your cross to follow Jesus every day. Christians are to share the living water, which is the gospel of Jesus Christ, with others so that they will also found life.

Jesus always refers to the Holy Spirit as the living water. The Holy Spirit abides in us and guide us to do God’s will. The indwelling of the Holy Spirit seals us for salvation. Those who are led by the Holy Spirit will live a life that brings life into the world. Jesus is the vine and we are the branches. We must abide in Christ in order to be fruitful. We are to spend time with Him every day. God is the source of all problems. God is always ready to help us if only we are willing to humble ourselves and bring our problems to him in prayer.

The world can never give you that living water that will make you forever satisfied. When you feel empty in your soul, you should look to Jesus. He can quench the thirst of your soul and give you life if you allow him to enter into your life.

Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again: But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life. The woman saith unto him, Sir, give me this water, that I thirst not, neither come hither to draw. (John 4:13-15 KJV)

In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. (John 7:37-38 KJV)

And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. (Revelation 21:6 KJV)

And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb. (Revelation 22:1 KJV)

For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water. (Jeremiah 2:13 KJV)

For I will pour water upon him that is thirsty, and floods upon the dry ground: I will pour my spirit upon thy seed, and my blessing upon thine offspring (Isaiah 44:3 KJV)

They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat. For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes. (Revelation 7:16-17 KJV)

And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely. (Revelation 22:17 KJV)

And the Lord shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not. (Isaiah 58:11 KJV)

When the poor and needy seek water, and there is none, and their tongue faileth for thirst, I the Lord will hear them, I the God of Israel will not forsake them. I will open rivers in high places, and fountains in the midst of the valleys: I will make the wilderness a pool of water, and the dry land springs of water. (Isaiah 41:17-18 KJV)

Bible Study Outline on Contending for the Faith

Jude 1:3 states that every genuine follower should contend earnestly for the faith. The church is constantly being threatened for its faith in Jesus. Jude explained the reason why we should fight to preserve the faith. Jude points out that our faith represents our salvation now and in the future. Our faith is complete as it is given to us once and for all. Our faith will always be challenged by false teachers.

In order to contend for the faith, we must take care to abide by God’s commandments so that we can demonstrate the testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ in our lives. To love Jesus means to serve God and do his commandments in the bible. The bible is not thought up by the church but it is the word of God the Holy Spirit inspires the apostles to write. Followers of Christ are to abide in God’s love. When you obey God’s commands, you are remaining in his love.

We must make sure we attain maturity in all areas so that we can have a balanced spiritual growth. For example, you must not just spend all your time serving at the church but also have time to read the bible and pray. True Christians will have the spirit of God. Counterfeit leaders including false prophets do not have the Holy Spirit. Many Christians are saved but they are not spiritual maturity. Good Christians demonstrate higher spiritual awareness.

Christianity is actually a personal relationship with Jesus. Unless you have a personal relationship with Christ, you will not be able to get into the kingdom of heaven. As a Christian, you must not be ashamed of acknowledging Jesus Christ before your friends. Theh 21st century see more and more people rejecting Christian values. For example, many places are making homosexuality and same sex marriage legal. Many Christians only go to the church but they do not have a real personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Some who claim to be Christians and go to church cannot even tell the basic beliefs of Christianity.

Contending for the faith means showing no partility. Paul rebuked Peter when he refused to eat with the Gentiles because of the presence of the influential Jews. Paul was bold in pointing out Peter’s wrong. Paul was bold to stand against Peter, a friend, who has committed an error in order to protect the faith.  Contending for the faith does not mean you have to be brutal and violent. It is wrong to discipline the disciples with insults and violence. Instead, we are to be gentle and compassionate when we reprimend a d younger fellow disciple.

Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints. (Jude 1:3-4 KJV)

But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear (1 Peter 3:15 KJV)

Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them. (Romans 16:17 KJV)

Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers. (Titus 1:9 KJV)

Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. (Jude 1:21 KJV)

Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. (2 John 1:9 KJV)

For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. (1 John 5:4 KJV)

Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy? (James 4:5 KJV)

Bible Study Ouline on Being Born Again

Being born again in the context of Christianity involves spiritual rebirth. Everyone of us is born in the flesh when we came out of our mother’s wombs. On the other hand, spiritual rebirth means being born again by God’s spirit. Faith itself is insufficient to get saved and obtain eternal life. True spiritual birth requires true repentance and faith in Jesus Christ. Born again Christians already die to their own selves by quitting their bad habits and live a new life in Jesus Christ. If you are a born again Christian, you will demonstrate the fruit of the Spirit.

God is a spirit and his children must worship him in truth and spirit. To worship God means to pay respect to God. In order to be born again in Christ, you must meditate on God’s words and live by his commandments. Jesus said that only those who have been born again in Christ will be able to see and enter the kingdom of God.In 1 John 2:29, everyone that do righteousness is born of God. In 1 John 3:9, a person that is born of God will not continue to live in a sinful lifestyle because the seed of God is in him. If you find youself keep on getting trapped in repeating your sin even though you want to change, you should tell it to God and ask him to give you the strength to overcome it.

A person that is born of God will demonstrate love for others (1 John 5:1). Loving others is the most important commandment in the bible as all God’s commandment hang on this commandment. To love others means to be kind, considerate and helpful to those who need your help. Serving at the church by helping in volunteering in different areas of the ministry is one way of loving others. If you love others, you will be humble, tolerant, gentle towards others. You will avoid gossiping, backbiting, grumbling, murmuring, arguing, and yelling at others.

A person who is born of God will never dis-acknowledge God even when he is being persecuted and rejected by others. Jesus said that those who love their family members more than him is not worthy of being his disciple. Anyone that is born of God will be able to overcome worldliness with their faith. Christians are not to compromise with the world in any way but let their life completely being led by the Holy Spirit.
There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews: The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him. Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born? Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit. (John 3:1-8 KJV)

He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. (John 3:36 KJV)

Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. (John 3:3 KJV)

In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will: That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ. In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory. (Ephesians 1:11-14 KJV)

I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. (Galatians 2:20 KJV)

Bible Study Outline on Taking Thoughts Captive

The devil can attack your mind by corrupting your thoughts with his lies. Philippians 4:8 states that we are to think whatever is true, noble, right, pure, lovely and admirable. If you allow the corrupt thoughts in your mind, you are allowing Satan to control your mind. If Satan is able to control your mind, he will also try to control your physical behaviors and attack your life.

Your mind can be influenced by your circumstances, the people you meet and the shows you watch. Therefore, it is very important not allow anything that is bad influence to enter into your mind. This mean you should not expose yourself to shows, music, books, and people that can give you bad influences and lead you away from God. If you meditate on God’s truth, the Holy Spirit will be able to take your thoughts captive. We have a free will to do whatever we want, to be slave to sin, or to obey God’s commandments. We are to pray and seek God at all times.

You must immediately take actions to stop this if you encounter an attack in the mind from Satan. If you don’t, the devil could be more invasive and attack you further. We can hear two voices, God’s voice or the devil’s voice. God can talk to you in your ear and let you see visions and dream dreams. Satan can do this too so you must be careful of everything that you enters into your mind. Sometimes, you can hear the wrong voices and think it is from God. You must pray for God to give you the ability to discern the right voice and wrong voice.

The devil likes to use your weak points to attack you so you must not give in to temptation otherwise he will have an opportunity. To fight the spiritual warfare, you must spend time to be near to God. Often, when you don’t spend time with God regularly, it opens a doorway for the devil to attack. Spending time with God means doing the things God wants you to do such as reading the bible, worshiping and etc.

Christians must always guard their thoughts and hearts at all time. Whatever you say begins with a thought. For example, if you think negatively of someone, you may be rush in opening your mouth to say bad things behind his back. Gossip can lead to quarrel and argument. We are to root out everything bad in our mind and bring every thought captive in obedience to him. If you have difficulties in bring your though captive into obedience to Christ, you should seek God’s help in prayer.

Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; (2 Corinthians 10:5 KJV)

But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. (Romans 7:23 KJV)

For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies. (Matthew 15:19 KJV)

Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. (Isaiah 55:7 KJV)

As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance: But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation. (1 Peter 1:14-15 KJV)

Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. (Romans 1:21 KJV)

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. (Philippians 4:8 KJV)

But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. (James 3:17 KJV)

In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity, Sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you. (Titus 2:7-8 KJV)

Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good. Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another; Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord; Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer. (Romans 12:9-12 KJV)

Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity. (1 Timothy 4:12 KJV)

Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. Abstain from all appearance of evil. (1 Thessalonians 5:21-22 KJV)

And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin. (Romans 14:23 KJV)

Bible Study Outline on Giving Praises to God in a Storm

Troubles give you opportunity to experience God and build our faith and strength in Christ. When we face troubles, we will think of turning to God especially when there is no other solution. When you seek God in prayer, you are humbling yourself before him. Some people get mad at God and grumble. They may ask what the purpose that God put troubles in their lives is. God can use troubles to equip and prepare us for doing his ministry in the future. It was the Spirit who led Jesus Christ into the wilderness. Jesus fasted for 40 days and nights in the wilderness. Jesus Christ was able to win against the devil’s temptation because he trusted in God.

Satan is always coming up with mischieves. He seizes every opportunity he can to attack and destroy people’s lives. Satan is happy when he see God’s children is being led astray. Satan sought after God’s permission to attack Job by taking away all his children and servants and livestock. Job did not curse God for all the calamities he faced but he praises God in the distress he faced. Satan can also send problems into your life. Satan will hope that you blame God and grumble against him so that he could be glorified in this. He will aim at your weak area and put a deceptive thought in your mind so that you will be discouraged to continue in serving him.

Seeking God in prayer is one way of giving praises to God. When you seek God in prayer, you are acknowledging your need to God. Jesus Christ said everyone who is laden with burden should come to him. During difficult times, you must be strong in Christ and not give up easily. You must continue to give praises to him, believing that he will answer your prayer and help you. If you give in easily, you are letting the devil wins. If you don’t give up and continue to offer praises to God, you will surely be able to have a breakthrough which you can tell others in a testimony afterwards.

We must have faith in God during the storm of troubles. You must believe that God will do what you request in your prayer. Nothing is impossible for anyone who believes. When you praise God in times of difficulties, you are offering a sacrifice of praise. When you continue to praise God in hard times, you will find the Holy Spirit fill your heart with peace and joy.

Praise ye the Lord. Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power. Praise him for his mighty acts: praise him according to his excellent greatness. Praise him with the sound of the trumpet: praise him with the psaltery and harp. Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs. Praise him upon the loud cymbals: praise him upon the high sounding cymbals. Let every thing that hath breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord. (Psalm 150:1-6 KJV)

Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms. (James 5:13 KJV)

Therefore I will give thanks unto thee, O Lord, among the heathen, and I will sing praises unto thy name. (2 Samuel 22:50 KJV)

Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: (Psalm 103:2 KJV)

Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle. Lift up your heads, O ye gates; even lift them up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in. Who is this King of glory? The Lord of hosts, he is the King of glory. Selah. (Psalm 24:8-10 KJV)

My soul shall make her boast in the Lord: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad. (Psalm 34:2 KJV)

And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible (Mark 10:27 KJV)

Blessed be the Lord my strength which teacheth my hands to war, and my fingers to fight: (Psalm 144:1 KJV)

O come, let us sing unto the Lord: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation.Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms. For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods. In his hand are the deep places of the earth: the strength of the hills is his also. The sea is his, and he made it: and his hands formed the dry land.O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the Lord our maker. For he is our God; and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand. To day if ye will hear his voice, Harden not your heart, as in the provocation, and as in the day of temptation in the wilderness: When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my work. Forty years long was I grieved with this generation, and said, It is a people that do err in their heart, and they have not known my ways: Unto whom I sware in my wrath that they should not enter into my rest. (Psalm 95:1-11 KJV)

Bible Study Outline on Eating Healthy

There are certain types of food the bible forbid us to eat including food made of blood, strangled animal and food offered to the idols. Besides, we are also to take care of our bodies by eating a healthy diet.

If you know that there is a certain food you can’t eat because of a condition, you should not eat it as it will damage your health. We should avoid eating unhealthy food such as food high in cholesterol, MSG and sugar. Your body is made to what it is right now based on the food you feed it. It may not seem at first that the junk food you eat is harming your heath, because it happens progressively. Everyone needs to eat to live but we should not indulge in eating.

Living on a healthy diet is one testimony of a good Christian. If you claim to be a Christian but often eat junks, you are not showing respect to your body as the temple of God. Your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. Your body does not only belong to you. Our body also belong to God because God created us. Jesus died for us on the cross to redeem us. God desires to live us through the Holy Spirit. God wants us to use our bodies to give glory to him. God said that he will destroy anyone that defile the temple of God and our body is the temple of God.

Daniel would not defile his body with the meat of the king or the wine. Daniel recognized that the meat and wine served on the king’s table are forbidden by God. He challenged the guard to give him and his friends vegetables and water for 10 days. After 10 days, they looked much healthier compared to the others who were served with the royal food. In the same way, God wants us to maintain a healthy diet by eating food that are nutritious.

When God give us our bodies, he also gave us instructions on how we are to maintain it. We can find healthy diet tips recommended by nutritionists on the books and internet. We are to present our body as a living sacrifice to God, holy and acceptable God. If we are to present our bodies as a living sacrifice to God, we cannot also indulge in bad habits that reduce our physical strength. Your emotion can have effect on your health. You should not starve yourself or binge on food because of an emotional problem. The bible says a merry heat is like a medicine but a broken spirit will dry up the bone. We are to stay cheerful, rely on God in prayer, and give thanks to him in all circumstances.

That ye abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication: from which if ye keep yourselves, ye shall do well. Fare ye well. (Acts 15:29 KJV)

Be not among winebibbers; among riotous eaters of flesh: For the drunkard and the glutton shall come to poverty: and drowsiness shall clothe a man with rags. (Proverbs 23:20-21 KJV)

Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things. (Genesis 9:3 KJV)

And put a knife to thy throat, if thou be a man given to appetite. (Proverbs 23:2 KJV)

Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God. (1 Corinthians 10:31 KJV)

What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s. (1 Corinthians 6:19-20 KJV)

And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat. And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so. And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day. (Genesis 1:29-31 KJV)

Drink no longer water, but use a little wine for thy stomach’s sake and thine often infirmities. (1 Timothy 5:23 KJV)

And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin. (Romans 14:23 KJV)

Bible Study Outline on Carnal Mind

Carnal mind refers to the inclination of thoughts to the lust of the body. When you live by the flesh, you will do what you naturally want to do according to the lust of the flesh. Examples of a canal mind are greed, wickedness, malice, and hatred. If you have the fruit of the spirit, you will do what Jesus would do. We are to follow the examples of Jesus Christ while he was on earth. If you are led by the spirit, you are the child of God. As a born again Christian, you are supposed to get rid of all kinds of sinful behaviors, attitude and thoughts.   Sin refers to anything that is against God’s commandments.

A Christian cannot live by the flesh and spirit at the same time. God commanded us to fight against the lust of the flesh. We are to fight over every kind of fleshly deed including emotions, thoughts, and decisions. Christians who are compromising with the world will live by the spirit and flesh. These types of Christians are inconsistent. The strength of the spirit and flesh in them are about the same. They will have some victories as well as some defeat in their lives. Backslidden Christian has much stronger fleshly desire compared to compromising Christian. No one will be able to know that a backslidden Christian is saved. Victorious Christians who live by the spirit and will never compromise to the flesh. Everyone will be able to know that he is a Christian led by the spirit.

Christians must not let the flesh to overpower them. It is possible for a Christian to make backward progression when he is not carefully following God. To avoid this, you should do spiritual activities by spending time with God. Examples of activities you can do to be closer with God are prayer, bible, encouraging others and etc. God promises to give the crown of life to anyone who finishes the race of life. We are to die daily in the flesh. Jesus promises to give a new body to the followers who have victoriously finished the race of life.

Satan is the eternal enemy of our soul. Satan is real and active and always looking for vulnerable people to attack. Satan wants us to live in flesh much more than we immerse in the Lord. He does not care what you do but he wants to make sure you are not with God. The devil likes to grab our weakest point to attack us. We must never give any way to the devil so that he cannot carry out his plan on us and destroy our relationship with God.

But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. (1 Corinthians 2:14 KJV)

Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them. (Romans 16:17 KJV)

But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. (Revelation 21:8 KJV)

So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. (Romans 8:8 KJV)

This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. (Galatians 5:16 KJV)

Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. (Galatians 5:19-21 KJV)

For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. (Romans 8:5-6 KJV)

There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it. (1 Corinthians 10:13 KJV)

If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory. (Colossians 3:1-4 KJV)

Bible Study Outline on Law Versus Grace

The Old Testament contains a lot of rules and festivals that God require the Israelite to observe. The Old Testament law is very strict. Anyone that does not obey the law will be punished. In those days, the blood of animal sacrifices is used to atone for the sins of the people of Israelite. This is to show that the blood of animal sacrifices will not be used for sin atonement forever.

Jesus Christ had to come to the earth to die on the cross and make atonement for our sins. Galatians 3:13 records that anyone that is hanged on a tree is cursed. The death and resurrection of Jesus signifies the establishment of the New Testament. By God’s grace, anyone who believe in Jesus Christ can get saved and inherit eternal life. We get saved not as a result of our works, so that we can boast about it. But, salvation is a gift of God. When the New Testament comes into effect, the Law of Moses was abolished so that there is no more need of following them. We are to walk in love and be kind to one another to show that we are good disciples of Jesus Christ.

God says the wages of sin is death. A sinner must repent in order to escape God’s judgment otherwise he will be condemned in hell. There is nothing you can do to please God and get saved except to believe in Jesus and follow him. It can be difficult for a sinner to fulfill the law as he is prone to sin. The seed of sin is in everyone and everyone has a tendency to make mistake. As a result, God had to send his only son, Jesus Christ, to come into the world to die for our sins.

Jesus Christ is God in bodily form while he was on earth. Jesus was vulnerable to all the sufferings just like human. After Jesus Christ was resurrected, he sat at the right hand side of God. Jesus Christ is a mediator between God and men. He intercedes for our sins.

You should not be discouraged if you continue to fall into temptation to sin. Without a conviction, your conscience will become hardened and it will be difficult for you to turn back to God. Waging war with your flesh means that you at least know you are on the good side, fighting against evil. You can pray and ask God to help overcome your sin.

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. (Ephesians 2:8-9 KJV)

And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. (2 Corinthians 12:9 KJV)

For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace. (Romans 6:14 KJV)

And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then it is no more grace: otherwise work is no more work. (Romans 11:6 KJV)

But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble. (James 4:6 KJV)

But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me. (1 Corinthians 15:10 KJV)

But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8 KJV)

Bible Study Outline on Setting Your Eyes on Things Above

The children of God should set their eyes on the things above. The non believers seek after the things of this world. As Christians, we should set apart ourselves from the world by not being greedy for material riches. Jesus used the parable of the rich fool to describe those who only concern on living the best on the earth but did not have any concern about their afterlife. In the parable of the rich fool, a rich man decided to tear down his barns and build bigger bans to store the surplus grain. The rich man thought to himself that he will be able to take life easy as he has plenty of grains store up in the barns for himself.

Many of us are only concern about having a good life on earth. Many Christians don’t care about abiding in God’s commandments as they want to fulfill their own desires first. A true disciple will always put God first in everything that he do. God promises that those who are faithful to God to the end and finish the race of life well will receive the crown of life.

In John 14:2-4, Jesus told his disciples that he is going away to the Father to prepare a place for them. He told them that there are many rooms in his Father’s home. In heaven, God prepare mansions for his saints. Only those who faithfully serve God will be able to have a mansion in heaven. In heaven, the treasure are not subjected to moth, and vermin. There will be no thieve in heaven to steal the treasures that have been rewarded to the saints for their good works.

You are now a new creation and must live your life for Jesus Christ. You must love Jesus Christ by hating sin and do good. To do good is to obey God and walk in his commandments. The bible contains God’s commandments so we must read and study it. Christians are to live by faith and not walk by sight. Christians should be anxious for nothing but submit their worries to God through prayer, supplication and thanksgivings (Philippians 4:6). When you do this, you will experience the peace of God in your heart and mind (Philippians 4:7).

You should apply what you have learn from studying God’s words. Christians should not be merely a listener but also a doer of God’s words. Faith must be accompanied with actions otherwise your faith is not real. Christians must resist from following the desires of the flesh including adultery, hatred, selfish ambitions, drunkenness, heresies and etc. Christians must be fruitful and produce the fruits of the Spirit.

Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. (Colossians 3:2 KJV)

Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. 7And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:6-7 KJV)

Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample. (For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.) For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself. (Philippians 3:17-21 KJV)

But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men. (Matthew 16:23 KJV)

In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. 4And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know. (John 14:2-4 KJV)

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. (1 Corinthians 5:17 KJV)

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. (Romans 12:1-2 KJV)

But ye have not so learned Christ; If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus: That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. (Ephesians 4:20-24 KJV)

And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever. (Revelation 22:5 KJV)

But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. (James 1:22 KJV)

For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. (Hebrews 4:12 KJV)

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: (2 Timothy 3:16 KJV)

Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. (Matthew 6:19-21 KJV)

For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and raiment let us be therewith content. But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. (1 Timothy 6:7-10 KJV)

But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. (Matthew 6:33 KJV)

No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon. (Matthew 6:24 KJV)

Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. (Hebrews 13:5 KJV)

If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple. (Luke 14:26 KJV)

Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.
(James 1:12 KJV)

Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life. (Revelation 2:10 KJV)

I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:
(2 TImothy 4:7 KJV)

Bible Study Outline on Exercising Your Dominion

Everyone has dominions and the power to control others. God gave Adam dominion over the animals in the beginning. All the animals have to obey Adam. Adam fell from his dominion and was chased out by God from the garden of Eden along with Eve after falling into the deception of the devil. The devil is a thief as his aim is to steal what is precious to you and kill you so that your life will be destroyed.

Men still have dominion as God never take it back. All gifts of God are not revocable. When mankind fall into sin, they are giving the devil dominion over them. As God’s children, we are supposed to live a holy life for him. We are slave to who we obey. We can only be slave to the devil or slave to God. If you choose to obey God, you must allow God to guide you in every aspect of your life. We are not to live in the sins of the people of the world but live according to God’s words. Christians cannot compromise by half-heartedly obeying God and following worldly practices at the same time.

Every man has a free will to choose to obey or disobey God. God promised that he will bless those who obey him and carry out his commandments. Jesus said that there will be tares among the wheats that have been sown. The parable of the wheat and the tares is about the enemy who sow tares among the wheat so that the wheat crop can be destroyed. The farmer will not allow the enemy to succeed. Instead of pulling out the tares first, the wise farmer will wait until the harvest time so that he can sort them out before destroying the tares. The tares are things contrary against God’s commandments.

We must exercise our dominions properly without taking advantage of others. For example, if you are a supervisor, you must avoid using your power to tell your subordinates to do things that are not in their job scopes for your own advantage. We must be responsible for everything that we are accountable.

If you cannot fulfill your promise, you should not take up the responsibility. Jesus said that those who are faithful in small things can be trusted with big things. Whoever that is dishonest with little cannot be trusted with much. God will call us into account of everything we do and say while we are on earth during the Judgment Day.

Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel, For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak. (Ephesians 6:10-20 KJV)

There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it. (1 Corinthians 10:13 KJV)

The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. (John 10:10 KJV)

Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. (1 John 3:2 KJV)

And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness. (1 John 5:19 KJV)

And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. (Revelation 21:3 KJV)

For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace. (Romans 6:14 KJV)

Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet. (Psalm 8:6 KJV)

Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. (Luke 10:19 KJV)

And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. (Genesis 1:28 KJV)

And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. (Genesis 1:26 KJV)

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour (1 Peter 5:8 KJV)

And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. (2 Corinthians 11:14 KJV)

Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. (James 4:7 KJV)

And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever. (Revelation 20:10 KJV)

Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. (John 8:44 KJV)

Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death. (James 1:13-15 KJV)

And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. (Revelation 12:9 KJV)

He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much. 11If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches? 12And if ye have not been faithful in that which is another man’s, who shall give you that which is your own?  (Luke 16:10-12 KJV)

A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another. (John 13:34-35 KJV)

Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law. (Romans 13:8 KJV)

Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another. (Ephesians 4:25 KJV)

But as God is true, our word toward you was not yea and nay. For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us, even by me and Silvanus and Timotheus, was not yea and nay, but in him was yea. For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us. Now he which stablisheth us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, isGod; Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts. (2 Corinthians 1:18-22 KJV)
