Praise

Troubles give you opportunity to experience God and build our faith and strength in Christ. When we face troubles, we will think of turning to God especially when there is no other solution. When you seek God in prayer, you are humbling yourself before him. Some people get mad at God and grumble. They may ask what the purpose that God put troubles in their lives is. God can use troubles to equip and prepare us for doing his ministry in the future. It was the Spirit who led Jesus Christ into the wilderness. Jesus fasted for 40 days and nights in the wilderness. Jesus Christ was able to win against the devil’s temptation because he trusted in God.

Satan is always coming up with mischieves. He seizes every opportunity he can to attack and destroy people’s lives. Satan is happy when he see God’s children is being led astray. Satan sought after God’s permission to attack Job by taking away all his children and servants and livestock. Job did not curse God for all the calamities he faced but he praises God in the distress he faced. Satan can also send problems into your life. Satan will hope that you blame God and grumble against him so that he could be glorified in this. He will aim at your weak area and put a deceptive thought in your mind so that you will be discouraged to continue in serving him.

Seeking God in prayer is one way of giving praises to God. When you seek God in prayer, you are acknowledging your need to God. Jesus Christ said everyone who is laden with burden should come to him. During difficult times, you must be strong in Christ and not give up easily. You must continue to give praises to him, believing that he will answer your prayer and help you. If you give in easily, you are letting the devil wins. If you don’t give up and continue to offer praises to God, you will surely be able to have a breakthrough which you can tell others in a testimony afterwards.

We must have faith in God during the storm of troubles. You must believe that God will do what you request in your prayer. Nothing is impossible for anyone who believes. When you praise God in times of difficulties, you are offering a sacrifice of praise. When you continue to praise God in hard times, you will find the Holy Spirit fill your heart with peace and joy.

Praise ye the Lord. Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power. Praise him for his mighty acts: praise him according to his excellent greatness. Praise him with the sound of the trumpet: praise him with the psaltery and harp. Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs. Praise him upon the loud cymbals: praise him upon the high sounding cymbals. Let every thing that hath breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord. (Psalm 150:1-6 KJV)

Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms. (James 5:13 KJV)

Therefore I will give thanks unto thee, O Lord, among the heathen, and I will sing praises unto thy name. (2 Samuel 22:50 KJV)

Will God Destroy the Earth Again by Flood?

In Noah days, humankind are so evil that it cause God to regret of creating them. As a result, he decided to destroy them with flood. Only Noah found favor in God’s eyes. Noah is obedient and always do what God says so God decided to spare his life. God commanded Noah to build an ark so that he could save himself, his family members and the animals. Noah is to bring two of every kind of creatures into the ark with him during the floor so that they will be kept alive. Noah is to take every kind of food for himself and the animals. When the flood ended, the ark came to rest on the Ararat mountain.

The first thing that Noah did is to offer a sacrifice of some of the clean animals and birds to God. When God smell the pleasing aroma of the sacrifice, he decided not to destroy all living creatures with flood water again as he has done even though mankind are subjected to sin. Romans 3:23 states that all men have sinned and fall short of God’s glory. The earth needs a savior to save and deliver them from their sins. God put a rainbow in the sky as a sign of the covenant he made with Noah. The rainbow always appear after rain.

However, this does not mean that there will be no more flood again. The covenant that God made with Noah is that he will not destroy the creations in the entire earth with flood waters again. During the last days, those who are left behind from the rapture will have to experience the calamities. Different natural disasters will occur when Jesus comes back for the second time including storm, earthquake, flood, and etc.

God showed his intolerance towards sin via Noah’s flood. He was merciful to Noah an save him and his family because he was righteous. He made the first covenant in the bible with Noah. The flood did not get rid of the sinful nature of humankind. We are all used to be dead in our sins. We used to be slaves to our sins and belong to the devil. Despite that, God loves us and decided to offer his salvation by sending his son, Jesus Christ to come to the earth to die for our sins.

In 2 Peter 3:5-7, Peter prophesied that God will destroy the earth with fire one day just as how God destroyed all living beings by flood in Noah days. This will be the final judgment just as how it was with the deluge that took place globally during Noah days. Now is the time to repent. We should not be like those who die during the days of Noah. They made fun of Noah’s warning and did not prepare for the day the flood came. Noah trusted in God and built the ark.

For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water: Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished: But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men. (2 Peter 3:5-7 KJV)

Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin. (James 4:17 KJV)

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. (Romans 6:23 KJV)

If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us. (1 John 1:8-10 KJV)

Does God Forgive Gays?

The bible clearly tells us to stay away from gay and homosexuality. Leviticus 18:22 and Leviticus 20:13 states that it is a sin for a male to lie with a male as with a woman. Deuteronomy 22:5 states that a woman should not wear man’s clothes and a man should not wear a woman clothes. 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 states that the unrighteous will not inherit eternal life and enter into the kingdom of God including homosexuals, fornicators, and adulterers.

Some of the homosexuality verses are from the Old Testament but that is not to say that we don’t have to obey it. Jesus’ death and resurrection has validated the new covenant. According to the new covenant, there is no need to abide by the Moses laws including rituals, festivities and other laws. However, Christians still have to abide by the moral laws in the Old Testaments. for example, the Ten Commandments.

It is also wrong to tolerate against homosexuality and approve it. It is not wrong to talk to a homosexuals and be friendly and kind towards them. However, it is wrong to mix with homosexuals company, for example, going out with them. Bad company can corrupt you. What you do can affect your thoughts. Mixing with bad company can affect your faith in Jesus Christ. Ultimately, it will lead you away from God. We must be careful not to give the devil a footstep. Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed by God because the wickedness of its inhabitants. One of the sins of the people of Sodom and Gomorrah is homosexuality (Jude 1:7).

God will forgive anyone who sincerely repent and confess their sins to him. The parable of the father and his two sons in Luke 15:11-32 shows that the Father God is merciful and forgiving to those who repent and return to him. In the parable, a father has two sons. One day, the father divided his property between the two sons. The younger son accumulate all he had and set out to a distant land. While at the distant country, he squandered away his wealth and spent all he had. There was a severe famine and he began to be in need. Eventually, he hired out himself as a worker who feed the pigs at a farm. He longed to eat the pods that the pigs were eating.

Then, he realized that many of his father’s servants are experiencing starvation and decided to return to him. When he was a long way off, the father ran to him and embraced him and kissed him. The father has the best robe and sandals put on him. The father had a fattened calf slaughtered to celebrate his return. When the older son saw this, he was angry but the father told him that they are to celebrate and be glad because his brother is dead but now alive again. He was once lost but now is found (Luke 15:11-32 KJV).

Jesus died for our sins on the cross so that those who have faith in him can be saved and receive eternal life. However, the gift of salvation is only for those who have repented of their old ways and make a decision to follow God. If you have accepted Jesus Christ as your savior but you continue in your sinful lifestyle, you are still not saved yet.

You can pray and ask God to help you if you find that you cannot overcome the sin of gay and homosexuality. You should pray persistently and patiently. You can also have your pastor or other Christians pray for you. God will hear your prayer as it is written everyone who call on him will be saved.

If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them. (Leviticus 20:13 KJV)

Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. How Did God Create the World in 6 Days?

Genesis 1 records how God created the earth in 6 days. On the first day, God created day and night. On the second day, God created the sky. God also gathered the water to one place so that there are seas and dry ground. On the third day, God created all kinds of seed bearing plants and trees and vegetations. On the fourth day, God created the sun, moon, and seasons.On the sixth day, God created all kinds of birds and sea creatures. On the sixth day, God created all kinds of animals including wild animals, livestock, and creatures that move on the ground.

Then, God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.” (Genesis 1:26 KJV) God created a male and female. God blessed them and the animals he had made, that they will be fruitful and fill the earth. God let the man ule over the fish, birds and wild animals. God gave every green plants as food for the men and animals.

God is the author of creation. He stopped 6 times to observe his works and saw that everything was very good. We are God’s creations. God created us while we are in our mothers’wombs. God created each of us unique according to his purpose. You may not be pleased with yourself but God made you and he is pleased with you. God says let us make man in our image and likeness in Genesis 1:26. This shows that God is in the form of trinity which consists of the Father God, Jesus Christ and Holy Spirit.

God rested on the 7th day so God wants us to rest from our work on this day as well. The 7th day is the Sabbath. The Sabbath is usually Saturday or Sunday, depending on which day you go to church service. On the Sabbath, Christians should not work and make money. You should not hire someone to oversee your business on the Sabbath as this is considered as making money. If you run a business, you should close it on the weekends. It is also wrong to sell your products at the church during Sunday service, even if you are giving a percentage of your sale to the church.

Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.(Exodus 20:8-11 KJV)

Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God. (John 5:18 KJV)

And when he was departed thence, he went into their synagogue: And, behold, there was a man which had his hand withered. And they asked him, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath days? that they might accuse him. And he said unto them, What man shall there be among you, that shall have one sheep, and if it fall into a pit on the sabbath day, will he not lay hold on it, and lift it out? Does God Hate?

The bible states that God is love. God is rich in mercy and compassion. God so love everyone in the world that he send his only begotten son, Jesus Christ, to the earth to die on the cross for their sins. God is holy and he expect us to be holy as well. In Noah days, God could not tolerate the sins of mankind and decided to wipe them away from the face of the earth. Exodus 34:7 records that God maintain loves to thousands, and forgiving their rebellion and sin. But God will not leave the guilty unpunished. God said he will punish the sinners up to the third generations.

Many people question why God sentenced sinners to hell if he is a God of love. Deuteronomy 32:4 states that God is perfect and all his ways are justice. God is a God of love but he is also a just God. He will punish sinners who disobey and sin against him. For some sinners, they will receive their punishment while on earth. Some sinners will be punished in their after life. God does not hate people but he has to sentence punishment for sins because he is a fair God. The laws are set up by our governments to help God punish the sinners. Criminals who offended the laws such as thieves and killers will be sentenced to jails. This is why Christians must submit to the authorities and do what the laws said.

Sometimes, the laws may contradict what the bible says. For example, many countries have approve of homosexuality. This does not mean that God approves homosexuality. If you know someone who is gay or lesbian, you should pray that they come to know Jesus Christ and get saved.God’s ways and his laws are righteous. We are to abide by God’s commandments and rely on him in all that we do. Children should be taught about God’s commandments in the bible so that they will be well behaved. Many children behave badly and commit criminal offenses because they are exposed to negative influences in their environments.

We only have time to repent when we are alive on this earth. After you die, there will be no more chance. If you go to hell, you will be punished there forever. If you have an enemy and you are afraid that he will harm you, you can pray for God to protect you and punish the enemy. If the enemy is wrong, God will act on justice and punish the enemy. You are not to take revenge against your enemy but act in love towards him.

And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him. (1 John 4:16 KJV)

He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.(1 John 4:8-10 KJV)

Abraham

Abraham was a good friend of God so God always tell him everything he had in mind to do. This is why God told Abraham that he was going down to visit the city of Sodom and Gomorrah to see for himself if their inhabitants are wicked. Abraham is humble, obedient and put his faith in God. Because of Abraham’s humility, God chose him to be the Father of the Israelite nation. He told him his offsprings would be as many as the stars in the sky and sand on the seashore even though he did not have any offspring. God also gave him a promise, that he will inherit the land of Canaan one day. Abraham gladly served the 3 visitors in front of his tent. When he saw the 3 visitors, he ran to them and ask if they want some food to eat. Then, he picked a choice animal and instructed his servant to prepare it. He set the food before the visitors.

Samson

Samson did not follow the rules of a Nazirite even though he was ordained as a Nazirite from birth. He married a woman from Timnah, a Philistine town. The Philistines were the major enemies of the Israelites. He could not control himself from taking the honey from the carcass of the dead lion which he killed on the way to Timnah. Nazirites are not supposed to touch dead corpses. He slept with the prostitute at Gaza and a Philistine prostitute called Delilah. In the end, it was his own weakness to woman, Delilah that betrayed him by cutting off his hair when he told him that his hair is the secret to his strength. The Philistines captured Delilah and put him into prison to grind mill. God was able to use Samson in his last days, when his hair has already grown back. Samson was able to take one last revenge against the Philistines. He pushed the temple’s pillars and they collapsed.

Paul

Paul, originally called Saul, used to persecute the Christians before his conversion. He was a pharisee just like his father. Paul’s conversion occur when he was on his way to Damascus to arrest the Christians there. While on the road to Damascus, a bright line shone at him and he heard the voice of Jesus Christ asking him why he kept persecuting him. His eyes was blinded by the bright light and his companions led him into Damascus. While in Damscus, a follower called Ananias lay hand on him and pray for him so that he received his eyesight back. From that time onwards, he started to preach the gospel to everyone he meet. Paul was a very stubborn man that has lots of enthuasism for God. God took the good point of his zealousness and used him for his glory in spreading the gospel. Paul has one weakness, which he states is a thorn of his flesh, that God used to stop him from becoming conceited. No one should feel that he does not have the ability to do God’s work because of his weakness. Every follower is gifted in some ways to build up others towards maturity in Christ.

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. (John 14:12 KJV)

Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Why did God Allow Concubines in the Bible?

The first man that commit polygamy in the bible is Lamech. Lamech is a descendan of Cain, who killed his brother Abel out of jealousy. Lamech committed murder when fighting with an enemy. Lamech took 2 wives for himself including Adah and Zillah. Originally, God created woman out of a man. Eve was created from one of the bone on the side of Adam.

After Eve was created, God gave her back to Adam to show the manner in which husbands and wives should live. Genesis 2:24 also mention that a man will leave his father and mother in order to be united to his wife. There should only be one father and one mother.

It is not sure why God allow concubines in the Old Testament. There are several possible reasons why God allow polygamy. One of the reasons may be that there are slightly more women than man in the world. In those days, there are lots of wars. Usually, the men will fight in the war. If they lost the war, only the women in the city will be left. Women are often carried away as slaves when their city is conqueredn. Another reason may be that women do not have the ability to become independent and provide for themselves. As a result, they often have to be given in marriage in order to make a living for themselves.

However, polygamy is viewed as a sin in the New Testament. Having multiple wives can cause a lot of problem. This can be seen in the example of King Solomon. Solomon fell into the sin of idolatry because he was led astray by his wives. One of the quality a spiritual leader sis the husband of one wife.

Husbands and wives must be faithful to each other. The bible says it is considered adultery when the husband dirvoce the spouse not of marital unfaithfulness and remarry. In the Old Testament times, Moses had to write out a divorce for couples who want to separate. That wasn’t what God intended from the beginning. God does not like us to divorce our spouses and remarry many times. If you have separated with your spouse, you should try to reconcile and stay with him or her.

Husbands should be the head of their wives. Whenever the wife wants to make a decision, she should first discuss with the husband to show that she respect his decision. Husbands and wives must be considerate toward each other.

Neither shall he multiply wives to himself, that his heart turn not away: neither shall he greatly multiply to himself silver and gold. (Deuteronomy 17:17 KJV)

Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband. (1 Corinthians 7:2 KJV)

Let the deacons be the husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well. (1 Timothy 3:12 KJV)

Why did God Allow Slavery in the Bible?

It may seem odd to us that the bible condone with slavery. Slavery is allowed in the Old Testament. Slavery was common during those days. Before a king was appointed, Samuel warned the people that some of their people will be slaves to serve the king in different ways such as soldiers, cooks, bakers, weapon maker and etc. The conquering of a city often produce slaves.

The New Testament did not encourage people to be slave but it emphasizes on a good relationship between the master and slaves. In the New Testament, slaves are encouraged to be obedient to the masters. Likewise, masters are to treat the slaves like a brother in the church since they have new identities in Christ. Jesus taught that we must serve one another with with love. We are to bear each other’s burden and help people when a need arise. We should not be proud but always be humble. Christians in high positions should not look down on Christians in low positions.

Jesus washed the feet of his disciples to demonstrate that they also must humble themselves and serve other just like he did. At that time, the washing of feet is the job of slaves. Even pastors, deacons and elders in the church are expected to serve the followers by caring for their needs instead of letting other people serve them.

It is very common for pastors to be served by other members of the church. However, God wants pastors to humble themselves and serve others too. This is what Jesus mean when he said that the least will be the greatest in the kingdom of heaven but the greatest will be the least in the kingdom of heaven. Nothing should be done in selfish conceit but we are to submit to one another in reverence to God.

Today, people usually don’t keep slaves anymore but they hire servants instead. Servants should not be lazy but do their chores wholeheartedly like they are serving God. Masters are not cheat their servants by paying lower wages and overloading them with work. Masters are to treat their servants properly with respect. This is because everyone will have to give an account of their work to God on the judgment day. Jesus said he came not to be served but to serve others. When Jesus Christ was on earth, he serve others. We should imitate Jesus and serve others in his love too. If you serve others in faith and love, you will be rewarded in heaven.

The parable of the sheep and goat divides two group of Christians. The first group care for the needs of other so they are seen as taking care the need of Jesus. The second group did not care for the needs of others so they are seen as not taking care of the need of Jesus. As Christian, you must love one another and consider others’ needs first in all that you do.

Servants, be obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as unto Christ (Ephesians 6:5 KJV)

Masters, give unto your servants that which is just and equal; knowing that ye also have a Master in heaven. (Colossians 4:1 KJV)

Hearing God’s voice is possible for those who have an intimate relationship with God. God can speak audibly to a person on some occasions. God can also communicate to us through our minds. FOr example, you may suddenly feel like doing something. Often, God will use the scripture in the bible to speak to us. He can flash a scripture over your thoughts to talk to you. He can also use people including believers and non believers to talk to you. He can use different situations to talk to you.

It is important to read the bible because He can only speak to you when you know His word. If you have no knowledge of the bible, it can be difficult for God to speak to you. The bible is God’s message to us. You must not disregard the bible as it is from God. The content of the bible is written by people who are inspired by the Holy Spirit. The bible contains information about God’s commands to us, what he expect in our conduct of lives. It also contain God’s promises, which we can hold on to in different situations in our lives.

You must know how to discern God’s voice. God’s voice is kind and will not do harm to you. God is good and he will never harm you. God’s voice is consistent with His words in the bible. If it isn’t consistent with the word of God in the bible, it is not from God.

God wants us to have fellowship with him before he can speak to us. It is same just like a relationship between two person. When you have a close relationship with someone, you will always to talk to that person. You should always discuss with God about the issues that happen in your life and let him guide you in everything that you do, When you talk to God in prayer, You can have fellowship with God through prayer and worship time. God listens. When God talk to you, you must not ignore but obediently listen and do what he says.

Every lifeform that God creates in the universe is a result of His word. When God says it, it is created since the beginning of the world. God does not automatically guide us in all the problems we face unless we come to him. Jesus said his sheep will hear and recognize him. Only those who belong to God can recognize God’s voice.

He that is of God heareth God’s words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God. (John 8:47 KJV)

If you want to have an intimate relationship with God, you must learn to be obedient by doing what His words say in the bible. An obedient Christian will always think of putting Jesus Christ and his commandments first in his life. Often, we will think for ourselves first before God. To love GOd with all your heart, soul and mind is to love others as much as yourself. This mean helping those who are in need.

Intimacy with God goes beyond a romantic relationship. Spending lots of time with God can increase your relationship with Him. You must always set apart time for devotion such as praying, studying the bible, and etc. Whatever you do must to glorify God and not based on your selfish interest. You must always take others into consideration before doing anything, not just purely for gospel purpose. God calls us to live in harmony with one another. If you do this, you will please God.

YOu should share with Jesus everything that happens in your life. When you are close with someone, you will want to share everything with that person. Jesus knows everything but he won’t help you if you don’t discuss your problem with him. You must tell Jesus about your problem and ask him to help you before he will step in to help you.

Jesus Christ loves you so much that he laid down his life for you on the cross. Now, you must do the same by loving God and others. You must always have time for God and help him to further the kingdom by spreading the gospel. You must not just ask God to help you but also help him back. You can help God back through various methods of contribution such as money, time, strength and etc. As you submit to God in obedience to His words, you will find yourself slowly change to become more and more like Jesus.

Jesus is intimate with the Father because he do what his will. His relationship with the Father is shown in his character, his obedience in doing the Father’s will. Jesus came down to earth to be crucified for our sins, according to the Father’s will even though the Roman soldiers tortured him unbearably. God loves us first so we must now love him and others. We can only remain in Jesus and the Father and the Holy Spirit by doing God’s commandments in the bible. When you do God’s will and walk in his commandments, you will enjoy peace and joy by the Holy Spirit in your heart.
Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. (James 4:8 KJV)

The righteous also shall hold on his way, and he that hath clean hands shall be stronger and stronger. (Job 17:9 KJV)

But it is good for me to draw near to God: I have put my trust in the Lord GOD, that I may declare all thy works. (Psalm 73:28 KJV)

This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
